Las Vegas Casinos Make Peace with President ObamaNO Deposit bonus $43

While the mayor and the governor grumbled, President Obama used his star power to win back casino and gaming workers upset with remarks he had made about Las Vegas.

President Obama made a visit to Las Vegas this week to fix political wounds suffered when he commented against the convention and gambling town as the precise way from teetering companies to spend stimulus money. Casino operators, always awed by celebrity, forgave the President immediately, saying no harm was meant.

However, political leaders from the gambling state weren't so quick to simply accept the President's appearance as a possibility to near ranks. After Obama's departure, Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman noted the Preseident never "said the magic words," while Governor Jim Gibbons refused a call for participation to talk about thoughts with Obama on the airport.

The Preseident appeared at a fundraising event for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, an established crony of the state gaming industry who faces a tricky re-election campaign.

Caesar's Palace boasted that Obama had chosen to stick in a single in their top suites, a fantastic 22,000 square foot palace complete with private pool overlooking the Las Vegas Strip.

Many within the casino and gambling industry, by far the state's largest employer, noted bitterly how Obama decried executives taking luxurious Vegas trips on American taxpayer dollars. They wonder how his stay at Caesar's is all that different.

"My company comes here since the convention facilities are the most productive on the planet. After we are here, we stay two to a room within the discount rooming, working all of the time," said Vegas visitor Tom Owings. "Maybe it might be different if I had an individual pool."

PokerStars saddened by 'avoidable' NJ casino closureNO Deposit bonus $43

As an eventful year draws to an end, we're saddened by the scoop that the Atlantic Club Casino Hotel in Atlantic City could be closed within the coming weeks after being sold through a bankruptcy court auction.

It's always sad when hard-working people lose their jobs, especially in the course of the holiday season. That is particularly sad, though, as it simply did not have to happen.

At this time last year, PokerStars reached an agreement that may secure a brand new future for the casino, save the roles of 1,800 employees and inject new blood, new technology and new finances into the Atlantic City casino economy.

It was a leap of religion and commitment of vital investment for PokerStars to do that considering there has been not yet a web-based bill in New Jersey and we faced a challenging regulatory approval process. Nevertheless, in good faith we immediately began funding the Atlantic Club operations, which provided the present owners with a lifeline and secured jobs at nighttime days following Hurricane Sandy and the seasonally slow winter months.

As spring approached, the commercial prospects for the Atlantic Club perceived to brighten much more with the newly-enacted iGaming legislation and the promise of summer tourism business at the horizon. That's when the casino's then-owners gambled with their employees' future. In hopes that the enhanced economic picture may lead to more rewards for them they walked clear of our contract in preference to wait another few months for the regulatory approval process to be completed.

Now, the Atlantic Club might be stripped for parts and its employees can be put out onto the boardwalk on the lookout for new jobs in 2014.

We continue to share the vision that online gaming could be a boon for brand new Jersey. Unfortunately, PokerStars is not any longer able to help the Atlantic Club employees and the local economy usually. The ongoing delays in our regulatory review prevent us from entering the market at the moment and bringing the selling and operational investment now we have planned for the past year. Those investments included establishing a U.S. office in NJ which might employ 250-300 people within the first two years and launching extensive marketing programs to energise our loyal customer base within the area and grow the web gaming market within the state.

We've delivered on similar commitments in newly licensed markets around the globe and these investments and management practices established us as an industry leader and we've been recognized as a great spot to Work in 2012 and 2013.

PokerStars doesn't share the vulture-like management practices that ended in the approaching job losses and disappointment of thousands of individuals in New Jersey with the closure of the Atlantic Club. Instead, PokerStars will continue to pursue our goals and remain confident that we are going to have a robust presence and positive economic impact within the American market in 2014, whether that may be in New Jersey or another state seeking some great benefits of being home to a world-class online gaming company.

Sunday's Rio 2016 Olympic men's basketball betting preview and oddsNO Deposit bonus $43
The general day of the Rio 2016 Olympics is upon us. Before they snuff out that weird Olympic flame thing in Brazil, first they're going to must hand out the men's basketball medals. Within the bronze medal game it will likely be Australia taking over Spain and the gold medal match will feature Serbia taking over the mighty Americans.

Australia vs. Spain (-6.5, 165.5)

With the disgruntlement of yet one more loss to the powerhouse Americans in semifinal action weighing on them, Spain should accept a place within the bronze-medal match Sunday against Australia. The Spanish are decisive favourites on this one, though they're slowed by an absence of motivation after suffering an 82-76 loss to the U.S... in Friday's semifinal matchup.

The Australians may be trying to regroup after being dominated from begin to finish in an 87-61 rout by the hands of Serbia within the other semifinal. Australia managed just 14 points within the first half against the Serbians, and can want a much stronger effort to hold in against Spain. Australia is seeking its first Olympic medal in men’s basketball, having finished fourth three times.

TV: 10:30 a.m. ET, NBC

WAG WATCH:

Renae Inglis is a celebrity netballer and the wife of Australia guard Joe Ingles, who plays for the NBA’s Utah Jazz.

ABOUT AUSTRALIA: Nothing went right at the offensive end against Serbia, because the Australians shot just 6-for-29 (21 percent) from the sector within the first half while not attempting a single free throw. Patty Mills led the best way with 13 points for Australia, which finished at 33.3 percent for the sport while connecting on just four in their 31 attempts from beyond the arc. The Aussies entered with the most efficient shooting rate (51.7) within the tournament.

ABOUT SPAIN: A sluggish start was the Spanish side’s undoing against the defending Olympic champions, as they fell behind by nine points after the outlet quarter and couldn’t recover. Their work at the glass left much to be desired, because the Americans out rebounded them 53-41 - including a whopping 21 boards approaching the offensive end. Pau Gasol led the way in which with 23 points and 8 rebounds in defeat.

TRENDS:

* The teams have split four meetings since 1984, with Spain prevailing 82-70 of their most up-to-date encounter four years ago.

* Australia has a vital advantage in points within the paint through seven games, averaging 43.7 in comparison to Spain at 33.1.

* Gasol leads the team in tournament scoring at 17.9 points per game, while Mills is the leading scorer for Australia at 17.0.

* Australia G Matthew Dellavedova is second within the tournament in assists (6.9), but had just two helpers against Serbia.

Serbia vs. U.s. (-15, 181.5)

A plucky Serbian side came closest to handing the us a loss in preliminary-round play. They’ll have to be even better to succeed in the duty this time around as they face a highly motivated American team in Sunday’s gold-medal showdown. Serbia won just two of 5 games within the group stage, but rolled past Australia 87-61 to succeed in the final.

They’ll face all they may be able to handle against the U.S., which seized an early lead and used intense defensive pressure to subdue Spain 82-76 in its quest for a 3rd consecutive Olympic championship. Klay Thompson poured in 22 points while DeAndre Jordan was a force with nine points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks. The U.S... has won 74 straight international games.

Milos Teodosic led the best way with 22 points for the Serbians, who shot a shocking 53.3 percent from the sphere and handily outrebounded their foes by a 43-30 margin. Most importantly, not one of the Serbian players spent greater than 28 minutes at the floor - giving the core group some much-needed rest.

ABOUT THE U.S.:.. Friday’s semifinal score flattered the Spaniards, who trailed by as many as 15 points within the fourth quarter before staging an ultimately futile rally. The Americans, who had struggled to play elite defence within the tournament, held the high-octane Spanish side to 38.9 percent from the ground en path to their 16th finals appearance within the 18th Olympic tournament through which they've competed.

TRENDS:

Online Poker Passes The big apple Senate Finance CommitteeNO Deposit bonus $43

new yorkOn Thursday morning, the brand new York Senate Finance Committee quickly passed Senator John Bonacic’s online poker legalization bill, S5302. The bill will now head to the Senate floor for future consideration.

Momentum of any kind is definitely welcome. But in line with the comments of a key figure within the Ny Assembly, in addition to the dearth of public hearings at the topic, online poker legalization within the Empire State seems to be a protracted shot.

In a column at LegalSportsReport.com, Dustin Gouker reported Assemblyman Gary Pretlow was “pessimistic” with regards to online poker this session. And Pretlow will be the best measuring stick of the bill’s support, considering he’s the sponsor of the assembly’s online poker bill.

In April, Pretlow spoke on the iGaming North America conference and said online poker’s chances were about 1 in 100 to even get to the ground for a vote. Moments later he said it was 1 in 1,000.

And Pretlow doesn’t seem to be a pessimist by nature. At iGNA he listed DFS’s chances at 50/50, and more recently said his DFS bill must have “smooth sailing.”
