Political observer Jon Ralston interviewed Nevada’s Attorney General Adam Laxalt, who admitted to supporting Sheldon Adelson’s Restoration of the Wire Act (RAWA), on his TV program Ralston Reports. Laxalt also revealed his intention to signing a letter going around to US attorney generals, which supports a ban on online gambling.Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval responded to the interview saying, “The gaming industry is changing and to ensure that Nevada’s businesses to take care of a competitive edge internationally, we must enact policies that let the industry to fulfill the demands of a younger, more technologically engaged gamer.

“The groundbreaking online gaming bill previously glided by the legislature provides local businesses with an atmosphere where they are able to grow and prosper. This measure also ensures our regulatory bodies, which can be considered the most productive within the world, will continue to develop policies as a way to ensure Nevada remains the worldwide epicenter for gaming development.“Furthermore, as a former Attorney General, Gaming Commission Chairman and someone who worked with the industry and the Legislature on Nevada’s online poker legislation, I'M very concerned that any one representing the state’s legal interests would speak out against current state law in our leading industry.

At its core, it is a state’s rights issue and that i disagree with the Attorney General that a federal government one-size-fits-all solution is within the best interest of Nevada.”Chairman of the Nevada Gaming Control Board A.G. Burnett also commented having said, “I disagree on his [Laxalt] position regarding RAWA. States need to be left to manage gaming as they choose, and the regulatory agreement between Nevada and Delaware was a success.
