Two Irish boxers was questioned over betting activities at this summer’s Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The Olympic Council of eire (OCI) confirmed the inside track in a statement, saying that the pair were being spoken to about “inappropriate betting activity”, but didn't disclose the identity of the boxers in question.
Although it isn't illegal for athletes or officials to put bets on the Games, it's against the foundations of governing body the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
The OCI added in its statement: “The matter continues to be under review so there'll be no further comment at this stage.”
