The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has issued a Request for Pre-Qualification (RFPQ) for the Niagara Gaming Bundle at the procurement website, MERX.
The Niagara Gaming Bundle includes two gaming zones: SW10 (served by Casino Niagara) and SW11 (served by Fallsview Casino Resort).
The Niagara Gaming Bundle RFPQ will enable OLG to pre-qualify the prospective proponents which are eligible to receive the Request for Proposal (RFP) documents. RFPQ applicants are required to offer information on their financial and technical attributes and capabilities, including proof of successful experience with similar projects.
The Niagara Gaming Bundle RFPQ will close on December 15, 2016 and OLG expects to start out the RFP process within the coming months.
From the RFP submissions, OLG will select one merchant to run certain day-to-day operations of the 2 gaming sites within the bundle.
By leveraging the success of the Niagara Casinos and taking up the price of capital improvements, the chosen merchant for Niagara Gaming Bundle may also help make sure the long-term competitiveness of the Niagara market--particularly relating to gaming markets around the border.
Throughout the procurement process, OLG has engaged the services of a Fairness Monitor to supply oversight and advice.
At greater than $2.2 billion annually, OLG provides the Ontario government with its largest source of non-tax revenue. Modernization helps OLG provide more cash to Ontario for key government services.
