Brianm15 stages spectacular comeback to take down Sunday Warm-Up!

Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for sunday-warmup-promo1.jpg This week's Sunday Warm-Up again saw the $750,000 guarantee shattered, as 4,412 entrants built an immense $882,400 prize pool. As always, the overall table was a hard-fought affair, lasting ninety minutes before brianm15 came from an enormous short-handed chip deficit to top chip leader witcherd heads up for the title and the additional $10,000 left at the table after a four-way deal was cut. Witcherd, who held the chip lead from the time the overall table started until in advance of heads up play commenced, picked up $113,400 for second place while winner brianm15 logged an $85,000 victory.

Frugtplukker was the general table bubble boy, collecting $5,294 for 10th place when his pocket eights couldn't delay. Witcherd came into the general table with the most important stack, but pocktnizzles and Supa4real were also stacked deep because the final nine consolidated to play for the massive money.

Almost once the overall table started, it was time for some of the tournament's scheduled breaks. After a snappy five-minute pit stop, short stack jouby44 picked up his namesake hand in late position and moved all in with 4♠-4♣. Brianm15 defended his big blind with A♥-9♦, and the race was on. That race led to 9th place for jouby44 because the flop came down 7♣-A♣-6♥ to offer brianm15 top pair and leave jouby44 drawing thin to mention alive. The turn and river brought no help as they came down T♥-T♠, and jouby44 was the primary elimination from the general table, picking up $7,059.21 for 9th place.

warmup 10.18.jpg

Jordie1982 went out in 8th place in very unlucky fashion upon getting all his chips in as a large favorite over brianm15. After action folded around to his button, Jordie open-shoved with A♥-Q♣. Brianm15 made the decision from the small blind with K♦-Q♠, and Jordie1982 looked poised for a double up, especially when the flop came down 8♠-2♠-6♣. The 7♠ at the turn gave Brianm15 a couple of more outs to the flush, but it surely was the K♣ at the river that shipped the pot Brian's way, leaving Jordie1982 out in 8th place ($11,030.01).

It was changing into an evening of nasty river cards, and BillieD was the following victim to be washed away when he ran afoul of chip leader witcherd. At the short stack, BillieD open-shoved with Q♠-Q♦, and super stack witcherd defended his small blind with K♠-5♠. The flop was harmless, coming down 9♥-A♦-6♥, and the 8♥ at the turn was no help to either player. However the river peeled off the K♥, giving witcherd the larger pair, and the last of BillieD's stack besides. BillieD picked up $19,854.01 to assuage the pain of the bad beat.

Witcherd claimed another victim when his 6♠-6♥ not just held up against kingsofcards all-in, but actually improved significantly along the best way. Kingsofcards moved all in for an enormous preflop raise from the cutoff with 4♣-4♠, and witcherd called from the small blind with sixes. If kingsofcards was in trouble preflop, the 6♣-J♣-8♥ left him drawing to running perfect cards to stick alive. None of these running perfect scenarios included the 9♦, so when that peeled off at the turn, the king was dethroned and drawing dead. The river was a meaningless J♦, and kingsofcards was done in 6th place ($28,678.01). After that hand, witcherd's chip stack was nearly twice that of his nearest opponent.

That chip stack got even healthier when witcherd busted his third opponent in quick succession, this time disposing of bboooommmmmm in 5th place ($37,502.01). Action folded around to bboooommmmmm, who moved all in preflop from the small blind with A♥-8♣. Witcherd quickly called with A♦-T♣, and the chip leader was again within the driver's seat with an opponent all within the. flop of A♠-7♥-Q♦ did nothing to switch the preflop standings, and when the turn and river came down 3♣-Q♠, it was in every single place for bboooommmmmm. The rest four players took a moment to speak about a deal, and after lengthy negotiations came to the next guaranteed money: brianm15 locked up $75,000 even, with pocktnizzles securing $77,484.15. Supa4real claimed $88,000.00, and chip leader witcherd picked up a guaranteed $113,400.00, with $10,000 left for the eventual winner. With the deal in place, the four remaining players settled in to battle for the rest ten grand the all-important bragging rights.

The play was slower than normal once a deal was in place, but after a couple of orbits of probing and folding, pocktnizzles and witcherd squared off for one last fight. Pocktnizzles opened for a raise from the cutoff with 8♥-7♦, and witcherd three-bet from the button with Q♣-J♣. The opposite players got out of the way, and pocktnizzles moved all in excessive. Witcherd made the call, and his overcards improved to a flush draw at the 5♠-2♣-3♣ flop. The Ks at the turn was no help for either player, and witcherd still led together with his unpaired high cards. The A♣ at the river made his flush, and pocktnizzles was done in 4th place together with his $77,484.15 payday.

Brianm15 managed to double through witcherd twice with three players left to transport right into a solid second place, as Supa4real saw his chip stack start to dwindle. After a sequence of raises and re-raises, the last of Supa4real's stack went in on a flop of 8♦-6♦-8♠. Supa4real was holding K♥-7♠, but brianm15 had flopped two pair with 7♥-6♥ and made the decision. The turn and river came down 5♠-6♠ to present brianm15 the whole house and the chip lead as he bounced Supa4real in 3rd place, good for $88,000 after the deal.
Tides had certainly turned for brianm15, who was last in chips with four players left. He went into heads-up play with the chip lead, and it took only some minutes for him to complete off his penthouse to outhouse story and lock up the additional $10,000 by booting witcherd in 2nd place. The overall hand gave the look of this:

headsup 10.18.jpg

Brianm15 opened for a raise from the button, witcherd three-bet, and brianm15 called. The flop came down 4♥-2♠-5♣, and witcherd led out. Brianm15 made the call, and the 3♠ hit the turn. Both players checked, and fireworks erupted at the K♥ river. Witcherd checked, brianm15 led out, and witcherd check-raised all in with Q♥-5♦ for prime pair at the flop. Brianm15 quickly called with A♦-9♣, showing the turned straight for the pot and the tournament win! With the additional $10,000 for winning the tournament, brianm15 secured an $85,000 payday, while witcherd still ended up with $113,400 for his work within the tournament. Congratulations to all our final table players and everybody who cashed on this week's Sunday Warm-Up!

Atlantic City Receives Decent Casino Revenue Report

Casinos in Atlantic City are hopeful the recession is ending for them, after seeing gaming results that show revenue decline slowing significantly.

After over a year of terrifyingly rapid decline in income, Atlantic City casinos could also be nearing a bottom, as September saw the velocity of decline slow dramatically. Gambling income for last month was still down by 5.8 percent, but nothing just like the 16 percent experienced in August.

"You search for the silver lining," said Harrah's executive Don Marrandino. "The game's not over yet, that's for sure."

Mark Juliano, CEO of Trump Entertainment, said he hoped the brand new results were the primary signs of stabilizing the revenue tailspin.

"The real question is how long until we come again to the effects we saw in past years, that is the question everyone in every business has," said Juliano.

The three Trump casino resorts in Atlantic City fared worse than the common of the town's gambling resorts, with each reporting continued double-digit percentage drops in September.

The Borgata Casino, which has remained perhaps the healthiest of the brand new Jersey gaming spots, actually saw a 6 percent increase. Troubled Resorts Atlantic City, facing a shutdown, surprisingly had the second-best month with a gain of just below 4 percent.

California Casino Competitors Unite for Intrastate Online Poker

Tribal casino operators wish to work with long-time foes in state poker rooms to lobby for intrastate online poker in California.

Play Now at Lucky 18 Casino! California poker rooms are teaming up with tribal casino operators to lobby for the bill proposing the licensing and regulation of interstate online poker. Usually rivals as tribes have fought the influx of poker rooms, leaders on each side are actually envisioning a formidable political force formed by joining the hundred-pus tribes within the state with the sixty or so poker venues.

Some tribes are dissenting, saying online casino poker may violate fedral restrictions regarding gambling off reservation land, and will endanger the compacts in existence with California.

The Morongo tribe, a few of the richest within the US, is leading the rush for a united front. They indicate how casino revenues suffering recession effects might be given a lift by online poker receipts.

"You've got an enormous amount of gambling occurring on the web at the moment that could be a large measure unregulated," George Forman, an attorney for the Morongo tribe, said to the Sacramento Bee. "I FEEL it's fair to mention there's an interest on some people's part that this activity can and may be regulated to offer protection to consumers and bring a revenue source for the states."

California was mulling passing a law that might allow intrastate online poker. The UIGEA federal ban against online casino payments wouldn't affect Internet gambling so long as both operator and patron were inside state borders.

Ruben Visser Wins 2014 Master Classics of Poker Main Event for €225,000

After a long, grueling day, and with the casino on the brink of close, Ruben Visser beat 2011 Master Classics of Poker Main Event winner David Boyaciyan to stop the latter from becoming the primary two-time champion within the event's history.

With just 35 minutes left before the casino can be forced to near for the night and the rest players left to go back for an extra fifth day of action, Visser sealed the deal after simply to hands of heads-up play. On the time, both players were virtually even in chips with 55 big blinds, however it was over within the blink of an eye fixed. Visser won a large four-bet pot at the first hand before finishing off his compatriot at the next hand.

Visser and Boyaciyan had done a deal during three-handed play with third-place finisher Andrew Chen. That deal allowed Visser to take home €200,000, Chen €190,000, and Boyaciyan €178,000, with €25,000 left for the winner. Even after this deal was done, there has been no playing soft, as all three were still eager to land the title — particularly Boyaciyan who had the risk to make history. It was to not be, though, and Visser claimed victory.

*Denotes a three-way deal

The day start out with a bang as defending champion Noah Boeken was eliminated within the first actual hand. The Dutchman pushed with the 10-Diamonds 10-Clubs , but found fellow former MCOP winner Ole Schemion with the Q-Clubs Q-Diamonds . The board ran out Q-Spades 8-Diamonds 4-Diamonds 6-Spades 10-Spades to position the tournament at the bubble of the general table.

Stuart Rutter was eliminated on that bubble, pushing with the A-Diamonds 8-Hearts and finding Jussi Nevanlinna prepared to provide him a spin with the K-Clubs Q-Clubs . Neither player hit the 2-Spades 6-Diamonds 3-Diamonds flop or the 2-Hearts turn, however the K-Hearts river sent Rutter back on a plane home to London while everyone else arrange for the overall table.

David Yan was the primary player knocked out of the overall table when he pushed with the A-Hearts Q-Spades into Boyaciyan's K-Spades K-Hearts . Yan managed to spike a queen at the flop, but couldn't improve to any extent further than that. Visser then knocked out Hzarem Aanquich in ninth place when he held a premium hand within the A-Diamonds K-Diamonds . Aanquich was doing better with the K-Spades K-Hearts , but an ace at the flop sealed the deal.

Steven van Zadelhoff was the third player out from the overall table, after he had gotten short and was searching for a place to shove. Unfortunately for the person with the remarkable beard, he shoved the K-Clubs 5-Diamonds right into Boyaciyan's A-Clubs A-Diamonds . One brick-filled board later meant another Dutch player was eliminated.

Play then continued seven-handed for some time before Visser shoved on a short-stacked Schemion. The German called off with the A-Clubs 7-Diamonds , but Visser's Q-Spades 5-Hearts was live and hit the 3-Hearts K-Spades Q-Diamonds Q-Clubs 4-Hearts board better. Schemion, the previous MCOP champion back in 2012, added one more final tcapable of his growing list of achievements, but he wasn't able to notch another win.

Short-stacked survivor and recreational player Robbie Hendriks laddered as much as sixth place before pushing with with the A-Hearts 2-Diamonds into Chen's A-Spades A-Hearts , after which it was Nevanlinna who was an unlucky in fifth place when his A-Hearts K-Spades lost to Clyde Tjauw Foe's A-Diamonds 10-Hearts after a 10 hit the flop.

The four remaining players continued for approximately two and a half hours without a one gaining an excessive amount of of a bonus until Visser won a crucial, huge flip against Tjauw Foe. Tjauw Foe was crippled with lower than two big blinds and eliminated at the very next hand.

After that, the deal was struck between the remainder three players, but Chen suffered a large cooler and was knocked out in third. Heads-up play started off almost even, nevertheless it was far and wide just two hands later with Visser becoming the 2014 Master Classics of Poker champion.
