More Details Released for "Molly's Game": Elba and Chastain to Star | PokerNews

The Hollywood biopic of Molly Bloom, who ran afoul of the law for hosting high-stakes poker games involving plenty of Hollywood A-listers, will feature Idris Elba as Bloom's lawyer, in step with recent reports.

The British actor possibly best-known for his activate HBO's The Wire will star opposite Jessica Chastain, who was connected to the approaching film this February.

The movie, titled Molly's Game after Bloom's 2014 book, is listed as being in pre-production without a estimation of a release year on popular movie website IMDB.com. Will probably be the directorial debut of Aaron Sorkin, known for his writing on TV series The West Wing and The Newsroom, and flicks The Social Network and Moneyball.

“The casting of Jessica and Idris within the two lead roles is any film-maker’s dream come true,” said Sorkin in a press release. “They’re two of the best actors in their generation, paired for the primary time, and their chemistry can be electric.”

Chastain is better known for roles in Zero Dark Thirty, Interstellar, and The Martian.

The movie will tell the tale of Bloom, who moved to La after narrowly missing out on a place at the U.S. Olympic team as a skier, and commenced hosting poker games involving stars like Tobey Maguire, Ben Affleck, and Matt Damon. Dubbed "Poker Princess," she eventually found herself at the wrong side of the law as a result of her role within the games and received a sentence of a year's probation with a $1,000 fine in 2014.

Notable players including Abe Mosseri and Bill Edler also found themselves in hot water.
