Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, N.Y., has upgraded its entire slot floor of 2,100 games with a mix of MEI SC Advance note acceptors and EASITRAX Soft Count technology from Pennsylvania-based Crane Payment Innovations (CPI).
The installation was completed earlier this year as a part of a $15 million investment by the Oneida Indian Nation to upgrade the casino’s entire operating system and supply new cash-play slot machines. Now guests can enjoy an attractive slice of Vegas right within the heart of Upstate New York.
“Our goal is to offer a world-class leisure experience for our visitors,” said Guy Renzi, vice chairman of gaming for Turning Stone in a prepared statement. “When our guests requested the benefit to play with cash, we turned to the CPI portfolio for a competent and secure cash handling solution.”
Turning Stone first opened its slot floor in 1995 with an account-based system that required guests to load money onto cards previous to game play. “Sometimes they'd to attend in line or stand up from the machine to reload,” Renzi said. “It was disruptive, whereas now they may be able to just walk in our doors and go straight to the game—and with SC Advance, there really aren't any more interruptions.”
According to company press materials, SC Advance is a part of the SC family of note acceptors that has achieved an installed field base of nearly 1 million units around the worldwide gaming industry. Greater than 110,000 of these units are coupled with the EASITRAX Soft Count within the U.S. alone. EASITRAX is an integrated hardware/software cash management system that drives operational efficiencies from the slot floor to the back room. It really works by gathering data from multiple SC Advance note acceptors and funneling that information right into a secure remote database that may be accessed to trace revenues and analyze slot performance.“We’re proud to have helped Turning Stone achieve their goal for a Vegas-style cash-based operation,” said Eric Fisher, CPI president of gaming. “Their experience reflects CPI’s focused technique to providing meaningful solutions that enhance the player experience, drive newfound cash management efficiencies and, ultimately, increase operator profitability. We glance forward to extending our relationship with Turning Stone and providing more support into the future.”
