Hong Kong Officials Extend Gambling Days to harvest Extra Revenue

Live horse racing in Hong Kong could be allowed five extra days this year, giving residents a couple of more paltry opportunities to enjoy gambling under the government's watchful eye.

Governments world wide may protest that actions are all about citizens' rights and protections, however it sometimes seems that the one thing that spurs prompt response is a possible lack of funding. The federal government in Hong Kong has granted permission for horse race track operators so as to add five days to the live racing calendar, so that you can replace revenues lost to the recession.

Like many state, local, or even the government within the US, debate rarely seems to involve the need of the people, the philosophy of whether gambling is a freedom or a scourge, or the duty of presidency to extricate itself from the minutiae of individual existence. Rather, every discussion of gambling concerns how much cash could be dropped at government coffers, and what costs will the federal government bear.

Apparently, halfway across the world, things are the similar. The Hong Kong Jockey Club, which in conjunction with a state lottery are the one legal venues for gambling within the city, may now run races on five extra days and add fifteen simulcast days to their schedule.

The government made the move after revenue from racing declined last year, off $110 million to drop to $8.6 billion. The racing season had totalled 78 days, but will now be 83.

Hong Kong does allow sports betting on soccer, but again the Jockey Club is the one institution allowed to provide the betting.

No Online Casinos, But Online Poker May well be Coming To Florida

Florida
Florida
The state of Florida appears poised to become the following state to manage online poker. With New Jersey lawmakers already legalizing full online casino gambling, Florida legislators are discussing taking step one towards that goal.

This week, legislators amped up efforts to manage online poker. The law being proposed would allow pari-mutuel facilities within the state to supply online poker to its customers through a third-party hub. If that occurs, the pari-mutuels can be on better financial footing to compete with Indian casinos within the state.

Pari-mutuel owners has been lobbying lawmakers to even the playing field between themselves and tribal casinos. The Seminole Tribe runs the Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood and another major facility on Tampa. To be able to compete with the Seminoles, the pari-mutuels have already been given some perks this past year.

Legislators agreed to lower the tax rate on pari-mutuel gambling, and in addition gave the facilities the fitting to function their poker site for longer hours. Those changes were aimed toward helping the pari-mutuels at a time when the Seminoles were winning the best to supply blackjack at their casinos.

If lawmakers and Governor Rick Scott approve the net poker legislation being crafted, the Seminoles would, in essence, win the correct to provide Internet poker besides. The Seminoles are allowed to supply any form of casino gambling that may be legal within the state.

Internet gambling has become a hot topic all around the US, even on the federal level. Shortly before the brand new year, Senator Harry Reid attempted to pass online poker legislation, but his effort was denied by Conservative lawmakers.

That denial could have been the last straw for states who're in search of how you can increase tax revenue for unbalanced budgets. California and Florida are both with reference to joining New Jersey as states with Internet gaming regulations.

Online Casino Status in US Creating Tax Confusion

The loss of federal definition of what constitutes illegal online gambling is causing tax puzzles for players at online casinos.

The unsettled debate at the legality of playing at online casinos within the US is causing issues to arise for those wishing to fairly pay taxes, but in addition expecting fair treatment in return. Despite the dep. of Justice's stance that each one Internet gambling is illegal, no federal law prohibits gambling at online casinos.

This leaves frequent players in confusion as to what's taxable and what's deductible. Consistent with a piece of writing within the Wall Street Journal, the IRS doesn't have a unique policy for online gambling, lumping it in with all other wagering.

This means all winnings need to be declared, and losses may also be deducted, so long as they are often substantiated. While producing records to turn gaming losses for land-based casino clientele is also problematic, online casino customers have ready access to deposit records.

But the Journal says some states, equivalent to California, are far less accommodating toward Internet gamblers. A spokesman for the California taxation department told Journal writers that taxpayers are liable for proving a deduction comes from legal and legit sources.

This implies that winnings are still taxed, but no credit given for losses, unless the state decides to simply accept the deduction. Unless state laws are explicit in denying online casinos legal status, as is right in six states, the federal confusion over online gambling legality will continue to permeate to many branches of government.

Online Casino Laws - Every country has different laws in the case of gambling at the Internet. Some countries also have no laws, which makes things much more confusing. It might be impossible to head throughevery country and explain which countries allow their citizens to gamble online, which countries don't, and whichcountries are ambiguous relating to playing at online casinos.

The Usa can also be described in those self same terms. There's no federal law that restricts citizens from playingonline and each state in America has different laws, or loss of laws, regarding casino gaming at the web.

It is imperative for all citizens, it doesn't matter what country you live in, it doesn't matter what state you live in, tocheck the laws of your land before starting to play at a web based casino for real money. Regardless of where you reside, however, you'll be able to download any and/or the entire casinos featured on our site and play them without spending a dime for as longas you like.

Online Casino Regulations - Each gambling site you will find around the web is licensed by the countryin which it resides. There are currently few online casinos that aren't licensed legally somewhere.

Regulation, however is a unique story. There are lots of countries, just like the United Kingdom, that regulate theindustry, but they simply regulate the corporations which are located within their physical borders.

The real regulation of online casino sitescomes from sites like ours. The internet portals internationally onlypromote reputable brands. In the event that they promote corrupt brands then they ruin their very own reputation. It's within the bestinterest of all casino portals to simply promote legitimately run companies and it's within the best interest ofonline casinos to run their operation legitimately.

Online Casino Bonuses - For those who don't follow the tips we're about to offer you, do notaccept or fall for any casino offering you enroll bonus offers. Online casinos offer players bonuses when theysign up for the primary time, once they haven't been playing for a while, once they play a lot, and often forno reason in any respect. There's a reason they offer away such a lot free money... they would like you to maintain playing.

Now, this may increasingly sound like a trick but it really isn't. The issue is players have no idea what they're gettinginto once they accept these bonuses. As a way to be fair (so that you aren't just in a position to withdraw every bonus a casinogives you), the casinos put wagering requirements that need to be met before having the ability to cash out. That iessentialant to understand.

The trick it's good to play at the casino to be able to truly benefit from these online casino bonusesis to play slowly and with low wagers. This may increasingly sound ironic, you are attempting to satisfy wagering requirements, yet we inform you to bet low. The secret is to make your money last with the intention to play again and again. Ourplayers that we have got hired explain that they may be able to make $10 last more than most of the people could make $100 last.

Playing with low bets doesn't meet not playing the max bets. The trick is to play slots at a low moneydenomination, say $.01, but play it at max, that's typically $.90. Playing max assist you to to win mediumand big sized jackpots, but it's low enough that your money will last for a very long time and by the point youare able to cash out you'll have met your wagering requirements.

Online Casino Scams - Within the old days of online casino gambling, long ago within the early 21st century, there really were a daft amount of scams run by an excessively corrupt online gamblingindustry. These scams have greatly reduced over time as casino operators realized that they willcatch more flies with honey than with vinegar.

It is now a very real statement to mention that that is probably the greatest industries for customer service andplayer satisfaction (we will only vouch for the sites now we have reviewed), because in the event that they cheat their players,in the event that they steal from their players, if they do anything that creates even the slightest little bit of untrust in players, they lose them. Remember, it's a web-based casino's goal to maintain you as their player for all times. That may be whythey consistently pop out with new games, because of this they consistently give you new casino bonuses, thatis why they've the most efficient customer support.

If that does not pull people in the course of the door then there are a couple of other curiosities to maintain you interested.

For the primary time in PokerStars history the festival will feature a turbo starting day for the primary Event -- with the similar structure and starting stack, but with shorter levels, permitting players who register on the last minute, in addition to people with short attention spans, to enroll in within the fun.

But festivals like this don't seem to be all in regards to the main event. QUITE A LOT OF side events will keep players busy across the clock. And for this reason we mean that quite literally.

In another first the King's Cup festival will include numerous events that begin at midnight, open to any player who has the buy-in, and who has not by then become a pumpkin.

Those events include a €150+€15 Midnight Turbo on Thursday 6 November -- starting at exactly 00:00 - and a Midnight Bounty event on Saturday 8 November. Let's accept it, for many poker players that's late afternoon.

In addition to all of this there'll even be room for a Eureka pot-limit Omaha Champion with a unique two day event set to happen as a part of the festival, starting on November 8. There'll even be satellites for the Eureka Season 4 main event in Prague, which occurs within the Czech capital sooner than the EPTs arrival on the town.

Palau777 prevails over 600-plus player field, wins 11/12/13 Super Tuesday

It was yet one more big one this week on the Super Tuesday, PokerStars' weekly $1,050 buy-in no-limit hold'em tournament with the $300K guarantee. A field of 602 meant a large $602,000 prize pool -- another instance of the tourney's guarantee being greater than doubled -- with Palau777 of Germany getting back from being the fast stack to start out the general table to take the highest spot and $113,778 first prize.

It took over five hours for the sector to shrink to 72 players and the cash bubble to burst. Another hour after that they were right down to 25 with Team PokerStars Pro Jake Cody still within the mix with a brief stack.

That's when a hand arose that saw Cody open from middle position and it fold around to Maxxx72alba who reraise-pushed from the massive blind. Cody called to place his stack of just over 48,000 -- around 17 big blinds -- in danger.

Cody had A♠Q♦ and Maxxx72alba A♥9♥, and after the 7♦T♦Q♠ flop Cody had a couple of queens and a larger edge within the hand. However the turn was the 8♥ and river the J♦, adding as much as a runner-runner straight for Maxxx72alba and a 25th-place finish for Cody, good for a $3,612 cash.

It would take until the seven-and-a-half-hour mark for the sphere to be carved all the way down to just 18 players, with Brian "brianm15" England and Nick "FU 15" Maimone leading all with stacks nearing the 400,000-chip mark.

Almost two more hours would pass before the following nine players had fallen. 3P3NIPA (18th), pyszalek (17th), and p0cket00 (16th) each earned $4,816 for his or her finishes. 11Barney (15th), krokynacio (14th), and PhantomLiu (13th) took away $6,020 apiece. And Maxxx72alba (12th), Joao "joaoMathias" Mathias Baumgarten (11th), and robinho (10th) each saw $7,224 added to their PokerStars accounts.

About nine-and-a-half hours after the tourney had begun, just nine remained.

Seat 1: Nick "FU 15" Maimone (Honduras) -- 186,347
Seat 2: neckbr4ke (Germany) -- 548,716
Seat 3: Palau777 (Germany) -- 64,746
Seat 4: Brian "brianm15" England (Costa Rica) -- 1,008,269
Seat 5: Kenny "LoneHixx" Hicks (Canada) -- 140,774
Seat 6: Stefan "IceStream" Ivanov (Bulgaria) -- 228,953
Seat 7: el n0i (Portugal) -- 213,629
Seat 8: GoodStoryBro (Israel) -- 443,241
Seat 9: NutsErryTime (Costa Rica) -- 175,325

Brian "brianm15" England had extended his chip lead, earning much of his more-than-a-million chip stack throughout the lengthy 10-handed period. And Stefan "IceStream" Ivanov had made the Super Tuesday final table for the second one straight week and hoped to duplicate last week's victory, good for a fab $120,204.

Meanwhile, Palau777 was sitting with lower than 65,000, not even eight big blinds, and after a few orbits would bleed right down to almost half that before doubling once, then winning a couple of pots to climb out of the chance zone and finally back into contention.

It would take greater than half an hour for the primary final table elimination to occur, in which stretch the blinds increased to 6,000/12,000 while Nick "FU 15" Maimone's stack slipped to 97,438. Then came a hand during which Maimone open-pushed from early position with A♣J♦ and it folded around to el n0i who reraise-shoved excessive from the small blind with K♣K♠. The large blind folded, the board rolled out 6♦T♠Q♠7♦4♣, and Maimone was out in ninth.

A while later the blinds were 7,000/14,000 when NutsErryTime open-raised all in for 99,325 from late position. This time it was Palau777 reraising all in from the small unaware of isolate, showing Q♥Q♦ to NutsErryTime's K♥8♣. The flop came Q♠6♦9♦ to provide Palau777 a set, however the 7♦ turn provided straight hopes to NutsErryTime. The A♠ fell on fifth street, however, and NutsErryTime's Super Tuesday run was over in eighth.

Play continued seven-handed, with el n0i moving up into first position sooner than brianm15. Then came another knockout as Stefan "IceStream" Ivanov pushed for 117,906 (slightly over six big blinds) with K♥J♦ and watched neckbr4ke call all in from the large blind for just 46,451 with K♣9♥. The community cards came 3♥Q♦A♠, then 7♠, then A♥, and neckbr4ke was done in seventh.

Not too long after that came a large lead-changing hand when Palau777 and el n0i raised from side to side following a 6♠2♠K♠ flop to position the previous all in with K♥K♣ (a collection of kings) versus el n0i's A♦Q♠ (a flush draw). The turn and river came 8♣3♣ and after having been the table's short stack Palau777 was the only carrying the chip lead into the tournament's 12th hour.

It was shortly after that hourly break that the blinds were 10,000/20,000 when Stefan "IceStream" Ivanov raised all in to 208,607 from early position, GoodStoryBro reraised all in for almost 315,000 from the button, and the blinds folded.

IceStream: A♦A♣
GoodStoryBro: K♦K♠

A seemingly dream scenario for IceStream, however the flop fell J♣2♠K♣ to offer GoodStoryBro a collection of kings and the lead. The turn then brought the 7♣ to provide Ivanov a shot at a saving flush (along with his ace outs), and while the 2♣ river did make that flush it also improved GoodStoryBro to a whole house, knocking IceStream out in sixth.

Just a minute later it was Kenny "LoneHixx" Hicks pushing for 278,486 from the button, el n0i reraise-shoving from the small blind, and GoodstoryBro folding the massive blind. LoneHixx had 5♦5♠ and needed help versus el n0i's 7♥7♦, however the board came A♠6♥T♣J♥Q♣ they usually were right down to four.

Another big confrontation followed a couple of minutes later when el n0i and Brian "brianm15" England got the entire latter's chips in on a ten-high flop with el n0i holding Q♦Q♥ and brianm15 A♥A♣. The aces held and suddenly England was back ahead in what had become a topsy-turvy final table.

A chip-depleted el n0i then open-pushed for 154,783 (rather less than eight BBs) with Q♣6♣ from the button and Palau777 called with A♠9♠ from the massive blind. The community cards came 5♦A♦2♠4♥T♦, giving Palau777 aces and knocking out el n0i in fourth.

The blinds moved as much as 12,500/25,000, and shortly Palau777 raised to 50,000 from the button, then GoodStoryBro shoved for 401,125 from the massive blind and Palau777 called. GoodStoryBro was in danger with A♥4♥ against the Q♠Q♣ of Palau777. The board came 5♣5♠J♥6♦3♣ to bring no help for GoodStoryBro who was finished in third.

After that hand the general two players were nearly even in chips, and after playing one hand more they paused the tourney to speak about a potential maintain Brian "brianm15" England sitting with 1,572,543 and Palau777 close behind with 1,437,457.

The original payouts had $113,778 going to the winner and $83,377 to the runner-up. The pair didn't stay up for any figures to be produced, but rather brianm15 offered Palau777 $84,000 with $6,000 left to play for and England taking the remainder. Palau777 appeared for a moment as if potentially interested, but eventually declined the deal that will only have guaranteed Palau777 a couple of hundred dollars greater than second-place money.

Here's how the last a part of that discussion went:

HostFelixC (Administrator): are you able to specify the conditions of the deal in order that I confirm it ?
brianm15: palau 84k me the remainder.. play for 6
HostFelixC (Administrator): ok
brianm15: gg palau
Palau777: wait
HostFelixC (Administrator): Listed below are the numbers, please type 'I agree' in case you accept as true with them
Palau777: come on we play
brianm15: k
HostFelixC (Administrator): brianm15:$107,155.00
HostFelixC (Administrator): Palau777:$84,000.00
HostFelixC (Administrator): Left To Play for place 1: $6,000.00
brianm15: agree
brianm15: ur last chance to make greater than 83377 palau
Palau777: no we play
Palau777: wait
HostFelixC (Administrator): ok, I CAN resume the tournament now
Palau777: play
brianm15: bombs away

Play then resumed and before too long a large pot developed that saw Palau777 check-raising brianm15 at the turn with the board showing J♣K♦5♣8♥, then firing a hefty river bet after the 8♠ fell which England called. Palau777 then showed J♦8♦ for an entire house, and after brianm15 mucked Palau777 was suddenly up over 2.45 million while England were knocked down under 560,000.

The end then came only a few minutes later. With the blinds at 15,000/30,000, Palau777 raised to 60,000 from the button, brianm15 shoved for 743,758, and Palau777 called.

It was A♣6♥ for brianm15 and 5♦4♦ for Palau777. The 5♥8♦6♦ flop paired both, with England's sixes best at that time. However the 4♣ came at the turn to enhance Palau777 to 2 pair, and after the 9♥ river it was in all places -- Palau777 had won.

California Changes Outdated Law Against Sports Betting Pools

Participating in an office sports betting pool, equivalent to a March Madness competition, can have drawn jail time in California until a brand new law was passed this week, relieving everyone however the NFL.

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a bill this week lowering penalties against participating in or running sports betting pools, comparable to March Madness and Super Bowl office pools.Previously, a contravention may well be charged as either a misdemeanor or a felony, whereas the brand new maximum penalty is $250.

The bill was proposed by Assemblyman Kevin Jeffries, after a septuagenarian grandmother was arrested and charged for running a $50 pool at an Elks Lodge in his district. The older law had her facing jail time, at the side of much heavier fines.

The new law doesn't apply to either pools whose value is greater than $2500 or online sporting bet pools.

Margaret Hamblin was working as a bartender on the Elks Lodge in Riverside when she received a citation for sports betting after taking ten $5 bets to form the pool. Hambling was printed and booked, and fined $130.

"Vital law enforcement resources are expended to investigate, charge and prosecute these two women for participating in an activity that may be as common as speeding," said Jeffries of the sports betting incident.

The NFL didn't touch upon the likelihood it will sue to forestall the brand new law from passing unless it got a cut of all pools involving its games.

Battle of the Planets: Profitable return trip for andyafc#1 winning $12K in July's freeroll

Showing last month's victory was not a fluke, defending champion bigbluffzinc was back on the final table again. After taking home $12K from winning the June triple shootout bigbluffzinc could be trying to become the primary back-to-back champ of this event. andyafc#1 also made a return trip to the general table placing seventh last November. The cards fell andyafc#1's way on the end, eliminating the defending champ in third place and claiming the $12,000.00 as much asp just three hands later.

IAMPOKER11 and grampabumkin who made couple of WCOOP final tables back in 2009 would square off for the 81st and final money spot of the triple shootout. With the blinds up to 150/300 ante 25 grampabumpin would shove from the button for 1,961 chips as IAMPOKER11 made the decision holding Q♥J♦. grampabumkin turned over 3♣T♦ and flopped a couple. However, IAMPOKER11's queens at the T♥ Q♦ 8♥ 4♣ A♦ board would take down the pot and startup the second one round.

Table seven held to key to taking off the general table as exportion, dirty.brasil (final table here in March taking fourth place), and woody1234321 battled it out for the general spot. exportion would export dirty.brasil out in 11th place to stand woody1234321 heads-up. woody1234321 would dominate the match winning all six hands because the last one pitted exportion's pocket jacks J♥J♦ versus woody1234321's Q♦K♦. A jack at the turn could be a foul thing for exportion because it filled woody1234321's straight draw A♣ T♠ 7♥ J♠ 6♠ and began up the general table below:

BOTP 072813.jpg

Seat 1: draken08 (1500 in chips)
Seat 2: scirrocco777 (1500 in chips)
Seat 3: XxSouthyxX (1500 in chips)
Seat 4: taska223 (1500 in chips)
Seat 5: omba (1500 in chips)
Seat 6: andyafc#1 (1500 in chips)
Seat 7: woody1234321 (1500 in chips)
Seat 8: bigbluffzinc (1500 in chips)
Seat 9: vandecouter (1500 in chips)

Early cooler

Usually the primary bust out happens across the 25/50 level however the cards sometimes force the action early. With the blinds at 15/30 XxSouthyxX would make a raise to 80 as taska223 call and woody1234321 made it 240 to head from the small blind. XxSouthyxX dumped the raise but taska223 shoved for 1,470 total. Holding pocket jacks J♦J♣ woody1234321 made the decision for less. taska223 turned over the dominating pocket kings K♠K♥ and hit third one by the turn 3♣ T♦ 4♠ K♦ 8♠ to fasten up the 2,870 chip pot and end woody1234321's final table early in ninth place ($775.00).

Chips going south

Still within the 15/30 blind level XxSouthyxX would raise it as much as 90 from the button as taska223 called from the small blind and omba made it 218 from the large blind. XxSouthyxX shoved for 1,080 holding A♣Q♣ as omba's kings K♠K♥ were desperate to make the decision for 830 chips. Eagerness doesn't always win the pot however as an ace at the flop 7♠ A♦ 8♠ 5♣ 3♣ shipped the 2,186 chip pot to XxSouthyxX and $1,200.00 to omba in eighth place.

Defending champ takes the chip lead

Watch below as bigbluffzinc lets the cards do the talking for a double knockout:

RSS readers please click through to view video

Bad timing to catch big slick for scirrocco777 K♥A♥ and XxSouthyxX K♣A♦ as either one of them did not overtake the pocket sevens 7♦7♠ of bigbluffzinc at the T♠ 5♦ 8♣ 4♥ Q♦ board to send 4,938 chips to the defending champ. As a result of stack sizes scirrocco777 took home $2,200.00 in sixth place while XxSouthyxX got $1,700.00 in seventh.

Last task of the day

If getting $2,735.00 in a freeroll was at the to-do list for taska223, mission accomplished. Just nine hands after bigbluffzinc's double KO and the blinds moving as much as 100/200 the 2 microstacks vandecouter and taska223 tried to collect some headway by shoving preflop for a 1,758 chip pot. taska223's 4♠Q♣ out of the massive blind hoped for live cards but instead vandecouter's Q♦T♦ dominated preflop and after the river card fell A♠ 2♣ A♦ 7♠ 5♥ sending out the aforementioned $2,735.00 to taska223 in fifth place.

Quick release

Just two hands later draken08 would shove from the cutoff for 1,627 chips because the table folded to vandecouter within the big blind holding pocket sevens 7♣7♠. The previous shortstack had barely enough for the decision again to tackle draken08's A♠5♥. Only the five would discover a match at the T♣ T♦ 5♦ 4♣ K♦ board to take down the 3,354 chip pot and surrender $3,350.00 to draken08 in fourth place.

Missed opportunity

A three-way chop could be briefly discussed but a rebuttal by andyafc#1 sent the cards back into the air.

bigbluffzinc would have andyafc#1 all-in on a preflop flip of A♦J♣ versus andyafc#1's pocket eights 8♦8♣ but did not catch at the 9♣ 7♠ 2♠ K♦ Q♥ board for a 7,682 chip pot, sliding the chip result in the fitting. Eight hands later with the blinds still at 100/200 andyafc#1 tried bullying bigbluffzinc with a shove from the small blind. Holding big slick A♠K♥ the champ quickly made the decision. 6♠7♣ for andyafc#1 watched four clubs 6♣ K♣ J♣ 3♣ 9♥ trickle out at the board to overhaul the flopped top pair and killed the risk for back-to-back victories in third place ($4,500.00).

Three and out

Just three hands of heads-up play between andyafc#1 and vandecouter sent the $12,000.00 to this month's champ. Watch below as andyafc#1 takes the teachings learned in November's final table run to today's win:

andyafc#1 applied the pressure from the small blind with a 10,994 chip shove holding 5♦A♣ as vandecouter made the decision for 2,206 with Q♠T♦. No cards over a nine 6♦ 2♦ 9♦ 8♠ 8♥ sent vandecouter to the rail as andyafc#1 collected the $12,000.00 first place prize because the July Battle of the Planets champion!

NFL Betting Odds Offer Big Lines For Week Eight

Published on October 25, 2013 by Vincent Tapoglia III

Odds makers spent the primary seven weeks of the season separating the contenders from the pretenders. Now, as week eight approaches, the sports books have continued a trend of heavy betting lines on one of the crucial top teams within the league.

Of the 12 games so that they can be played in week eight, eight have underdogs getting greater than a touchdown. That may be just about a record at this point within the season, and shows that there has become a pointy competitive imbalance between the highest and the ground of the league.

"There is a large discrepancy between the nice teams and the bad," said analyst Joel Shermack. "What we have seen is the nice teams recovering from the beginning of the year, and the bad teams really beginning to take form as inept. That may be creating some lines that experience never before been seen."

Two weeks ago, Denver was favored by nearly four touchdowns over the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Broncos has been one of the prolific offensive teams in league history in the course of the first half the season, while Jacksonville has struggled to attain 10 points a game. The Jags ended up covering the huge spread.

This week's largest spread again involves the Jaguars. San Francisco, the defending NFC champs and a team that has hit their stride in recent weeks, is a 17 point favorite over Jacksonville. The sport is being played in Jacksonville, and the overall for the match up is 41.

Washington was playing best of late, but that didn't stop odds makers from installing the high flying Broncos as two touchdown favorites over the Redskins. Washington's defense has given up a ton of points up to now. and plenty of predict Peyton Manning and the Denver offense can have little problem picking apart the Washington defense.

Green Bay (-10), and Seattle (-11), are the one other two double digit favorites in week eight. The Packers will face a Minnesota team that may be right down to its fifth string quarterback, while Seattle will play Monday night against a St. Louis team that lost their starting quarterback, Sam Bradford, to injury two weeks ago.

Online Casino Bill Shows NFL Making US Government Policy

The NFL flexed its political muscle today, getting an attachment to Barney Frank's online casino bill assuring that sports betting will remain illegal at the Internet.

Play the Best Slots at Superslots Casino! While gaming foe Spencer Bachus railed concerning the undue influence of online casino lobbyists, a much more powerful and insidious lobby affected the markup of Barney Frank's proposal to license Internet gaming sites. Representative Peter King cited the fear of the NFL in offering an amendment to H.R. 2267 which emphasizes sports betting will remain illegal on the net and elsewhere.

Bachus suggested that both votes of committee members and testimony of experts were swayed by lobbying paid for with online gambling dollars. He replied to a submission by John Campbell of California, through which Campbell listed four community spokesmen from Internet groups, financial institutions, and civil libertarians who supported the bill, as containing statements from two receiving funding from Internet casinos.

When pressed by Chairman Frank to call his two contaminated suspects, Bachus declined. But no questions were asked as to lobbying and campaign funding by the National Football League, a business association whose interests were clearly represented whatever the best concerns people residents.

Frank noted that among the proposed amendments weren't concerning the morality of gambling or protecting children, but protectionist attempts to manage competition. He stated sarcastically that he could understand the NFL's worry over the bill,as "people might start betting on sports" if the amendment weren't added.

Illegal sports betting is thought of as a hundred-billion dollar  industry within the US.

King directly stated that his amendment was necessary, despite language within the bill already excluding sports betting from the provisions of the bill, since the" NFL has concerns about gambling." Even King, who was a staunch supporter of Frank's online casino bills, desired to appease the imposing might of the NFL.

Other committee members also expressed doubt as to the necessity to create a unique clause for sports betting, but conceded that argument must advance to the future, One observer noted that the failure to face as much as the special interests will mean revisiting the problem soon.

Ho Casino Dynasty Seeking to Expand Into Japan

Published on October 29, 2013 by Terry Goodwin

The Ho family has built a casino gambling empire with their innovative thinking and talent to take big chances. Stanley Ho was the pioneer of much of that empire building, and now his son is taking aim at expanding the empire.

Lawrence Ho has announced that if Melco Crown Entertainment gains the correct to open a casino in Japan, that the corporate is ready to speculate $5 billion into the project. Japan has become a hot target for a lot of the gaming industry during the last couple of years.

Macau has become the highest gaming market within the world, and together with Macau's success has come an idea that other countries in Asia can also thrive. Japan is on the top of the industrial ladder within the world, making it a fascinating destination for gaming companies trying to plant their flag.

Ho's become independent from from the Macau empire the family created comes from an increased directive from the federal government to manage the gaming industry in Macau. Ho believes the way forward for the industry could also be shifting clear of Macau and into areas reminiscent of Japan and Singapore.

"There is not any doubt that Japan is the largest prize available to developers in Asia," said analyst William Naymar. "THE QUANTITY of gamblers that exist in Japan, coupled with a thriving economy, make Japan a natural choice for any gaming group. The primary few casinos opened there'll change the way forward for the industry."

Ho's interests don't stop with Japan. In recent years, Ho has invested in casino projects within the Philippines and Russia. It has all been an effort to expand beyond the clutches of the Chinese government and Macau.

"Macau is a small place," said Ho. "UP TO I WOULD LIKE to construct a theme park, we just do not have the land to do it.

Ho went directly to say, "We still have essentially the most eggs within the Macau basket."
