While the NBA is fairly predictable compared to other Daily Fantasy Sports offerings, a lot can change from week to week. Being aware of injuries, role changes, or even just a player who is all of a sudden playing markedly better or worse than he was previously is very important when you’re playing NBA DFS. My goal with this weekly NBA article is to take a quick trip around the league and highlight situations that you should be on the lookout for to help your DFS teams.

Atlanta Hawks
Kent Bazemore has done well in his new starting role and is an option for the time being at his price on DFS sites.
Boston Celtics
Amir Johnson and Jared Sullinger missed Monday’s game, leaving David Lee and Kelly Olynyk as stellar values. Johnson has already been ruled out Wednesday, but Sullinger is probable. Look for either Lee or Olynyk to return some value Wednesday.
Brooklyn Nets
Brook Lopez is always a great tournament option, as he seemingly has 45 fantasy point outbursts for a medium price tag quite often.
Charlotte Hornets
Al Jefferson will return from suspension soon. Until then, Nicolas Batum offers a good amount of upside for his price.
Chicago Bulls
Joakim Noah will be on the shelf for at least two weeks. Keep an eye on what that means for the other big men in Chicago.
Cleveland Cavaliers
Kyrie Irving made his season debut on Sunday. My expectation is that this will put a small or possibly even large dent in the daily fantasy value of all other Cleveland players.
Dallas Mavericks
With Deron Williams and Devin Harris ailing, keep an eye on Raymond Felton Wednesday and beyond if both players can’t play.
Denver Nuggets
With Emmanuel Mudiay out, Jameer Nelson continues to provide a solid floor in DFS at his price. In other Nuggets news, Will Barton is an absolute fireball coming in off the bench and has put up numerous strong stat lines recently. The guy can ball.
Detroit Pistons
Andre Drummond has slowed a bit off his torrid early season pace. He still makes for a great tournament option every night though.
Golden State Warriors
Klay Thompson is the guy I’m keying on right now for the champs. He’s got his form back and has put up a few great shooting nights lately.
Houston Rockets
Shooting guard is often a tough position to find anyone to like. I will often resort to using James Harden in that case provided the value is there at other positions. Harden is rock solid.
Indiana Pacers
Paul George has really slowed of late, though I do think he makes for a great tournament option Wednesday in a plum matchup with the Kings.
Los Angeles Clippers
The old Chris Paul appears to be back, and his daily fantasy price hasn’t quite caught up yet. Take advantage. This also appears to be hurting Blake Griffin’s value a little.
Los Angeles Lakers
Kobe Bryant, dare I say it, looks pretty good right now. He and Jordan Clarkson are playing well and both make for reasonable DFS options at the moment.
Memphis Grizzlies
I think I’ve played Matt Barnes about eight nights in a row and his price never seems to go up. I’ll continue to use him as long as it doesn’t.
Miami Heat
Take a look at Hassan Whiteside. After being relegated to minutes in the 26 to 28 range for a lot of the season, Whiteside has really come on lately while seeing 36, 38, 31 and 30 minutes in the last four games. He is a beast.
Minnesota Timberwolves
It’s difficult to ever use the Wolves in DFS. Their rotations are tough to predict night to night. Gorgui Dieng when he draws a start is the one exception.
Milwaukee Bucks
Michael Carter-Williams has recently taken the starting point guard job back and he is really running with it. He’s a slam-dunk DFS value for the time being.
New Orleans Pelicans
Tyreke Evans is back in full force and putting up strong stat lines. He also appears to be cutting into Anthony Davis’ production a little.
New York Knicks
The Knicks are a pretty uninspiring team when it comes to daily fantasy. Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis make for reasonable tournament options most nights.
Oklahoma City Thunder
You know what you’re getting here. Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook are in play every single night. And Serge Ibaka is usually a decent fallback power forward option.
Orlando Magic
Nikola Vucevic, Elfrid Payton and Tobias Harris had gotten too cheap for a brief time a few weeks ago. They’re now all priced relatively fairly, but playing well.
Philadelphia 76ers
In my opinion, it is rarely correct to use anyone from this team, as they’re always liable to get blown out.
Phoenix Suns
The big man rotation has gone back to being a total mess for DFS. Eric Bledsoe has had a few poor games recently, but I’m still in on him as a strong play at his price point most nights.
Portland Trailblazers
Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum both missed Monday night’s game. Lillard has already been pronounced out for Wednesday and McCollum is questionable. If both miss, Tim Frazier is an auto play in DFS and Allen Crabbe looks good too.
San Antonio Spurs
Kawhi Leonard is the only Spur that I ever consider when the team is at full strength. That usually goes okay, as Leonard has emerged as one of the league’s best players.
Sacramento Kings
My gut says that the Demarcus Cousins outburst is coming. He just has to go on a run of 50, 60 and 70 point daily fantasy outings here pretty soon. Rudy Gay, Omri Casspi and Rajon Rondo are all decent options for Sacramento right now as well.
Toronto Raptors
Kyle Lowry and Demar Derozan are always solid options. Bismack Biyombo has been a solid value recently and will be as long as Jonas Valanciunas is sidelined. My favorite Raptor to use when he gets spot starts is James Johnson, but he missed Tuesday’s game with an injury.
Utah Jazz
Gordon Hayward is the hottest player on the Jazz right now, putting up a strong and remarkably consistent stretch over his last ten or so games.
Washington Wizards
Amidst a rash of injuries, all five Wizards starters (John Wall, Garrett Temple, Kelly Oubre, Jared Dudley and Marcin Gortat) in recent games have been putting up valuable DFS days. Otto Porter is doubtful again Wednesday, so look for more of the same.
