Casinos in Nevada won $11.1 billion from gamblers in 2015, an increase of 0.9 percent compared to the previous year, according to figures released Friday by gaming regulators.

Gaming win on the Las Vegas Strip accounted for $6.35 billion of that figure, down 0.4 percent compared to 2014. The data showing that gaming win was basically flat is not a surprise.

In the last fiscal year, Nevada’s top grossing casinos had total revenue of nearly $24.6 billion, the most since the $25 billion seen in 2008. Statewide gaming revenue during FY 2015 was $10.6 billion, or 43.2 percent of total revenue. According to research done by the University of Nevada Las Vegas, that’s a historic low. Three decades ago, gaming win represented nearly 62 percent of total casino revenue in the fiscal year.

On the Strip, gaming win was just 34.9 percent of the total revenue of $16.74 billion, also an all-time low. This all means that other revenue sources—hotel rooms, food, beverages, entertainment and retail—are at historic highs in the Silver State.
