Mid-Week Online Casino Progressive Jackpots Are Few

In this primary week in December, many online casino players is also seeking to get lucky while playing the net casino progressives. Sadly, there have only been few, leaving some to wonder whether this weekend will bring the warmth. As of today, just one has emerged.

Earlier this morning, Microgaming online casino’s awarded one lucky player with a groovy $28,325.00. The winning progressive slot? But of coarse, Mega Moolah Major. Within the last 30 days, 9 lucky online casino players has been awarded progressive jackpot from this Microgaming slot alone. All jackpots range from $10K to $51K. Mega Moolah Major are available inside popular Microgaming online casino’s akin to All Jackpots Casino and Roxy Palace Casino.

Another Microgaming casino game that made a web-based player more than pleased was Cyberstud Poker. This one player was awarded the progressive jackpot 3 days ago and within the amount of over $185K.

Among other progressive jackpots struck this week were from Cryptologic’s Hero progressives and Rival Gaming online casinos. Tis’ the season to be winning. All of us wish to the progressive jackpot and hopefully tonight and tomorrow will bring some early December cheer.

First Supernova Elite 2008: jorj95

In the suburbs of Phoenix, Arizona sits a person who holds a singular distinction. George Lind III, sometimes called jorj95, can claim something nobody else can: he's officially the primary PokerStars VIP Club Supernova Elite of 2008.

Supernova Elite is the top rung of the ladder within the VIP Club. Players need to earn 1,000,000 VIP Player Points to earn the dignity. Last year, only 39 players managed the achievement (Team PokerStars Pro, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier was the primary of that year).

In April of last year, a chum told Jorj95 in regards to the Supernova Elite program. " I BELIEVED it'd be a reasonably easy thing for me to perform while making some money along the way," he said. "Then I earned over 500,000 VPP in exactly the month of May and just about coasted the remainder of the year to make it to Elite."

He makes it sound pretty easy, no? Well, that was last year. Consider this. He was married for under a year and he's already made it to the Elite level...twice.

Taking a glance back at jorj95's poker history, it's hard to assume him failing at anything. In 1998, he started playing low limit games recreationally in casinos. In early 2000, he took a shot at 20/40 hold'em.

"Within about six months I USED TO BE playing as high as 400/800 mix games," he said.

He played big bet seven card stud games and made enough money that, by April 2001, he had quit his computer programming job and began cards fulltime. It seemed he had found his calling. Or even not.

"In early 2004, I just about quit playing poker because I got uninterested in it and that i got into sports betting," he said. "I did this for a couple of years, but many of the opportunities with sports betting have dried up."

What's fairly amazing is that jorj95 didn't start cards again until he learned concerning the Supernova Elite program this time last year. So, he got married, made Supernova Elite, and set his sites on 2008.

As 2008 began, jorg95 didn't go browsing to play. He relaxed for a couple of days, went to the Bahamas for the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, and didn't worry concerning the Supernova Elite program for just about two weeks. He didn't play a single hand online until January 13.

Two months and five days later, on March 18, jorj95 became the primary Supernova Elite of 2008.

As for what he will do now, that's still up within the air. Whatever he decides, there's certainly more poker to be played this year. By virtue of creating Supernova Elite, he gets free entry into the sector Championship of Online Poker main event, in addition to two big buy-in live events...all for under three months work.

Congratulations to jorj95 for the achievement.

Palau777 prevails over 600-plus player field, wins 11/12/13 Super Tuesday

It was one more big one this week on the Super Tuesday, PokerStars' weekly $1,050 buy-in no-limit hold'em tournament with the $300K guarantee. A field of 602 meant a large $602,000 prize pool -- one more instance of the tourney's guarantee being greater than doubled -- with Palau777 of Germany getting back from being the fast stack to begin the general table to take the highest spot and $113,778 first prize.

It took over five hours for the sphere to shrink to 72 players and the cash bubble to burst. Another hour after that they were right down to 25 with Team PokerStars Pro Jake Cody still within the mix with a brief stack.

That's when a hand arose that saw Cody open from middle position and it fold around to Maxxx72alba who reraise-pushed from the massive blind. Cody called to position his stack of just over 48,000 -- around 17 big blinds -- in peril.

Cody had A♠Q♦ and Maxxx72alba A♥9♥, and after the 7♦T♦Q♠ flop Cody had a couple of queens and a larger edge within the hand. However the turn was the 8♥ and river the J♦, adding as much as a runner-runner straight for Maxxx72alba and a 25th-place finish for Cody, good for a $3,612 cash.

It would take until the seven-and-a-half-hour mark for the sector to be carved all the way down to just 18 players, with Brian "brianm15" England and Nick "FU 15" Maimone leading all with stacks nearing the 400,000-chip mark.

Almost two more hours would pass before the following nine players had fallen. 3P3NIPA (18th), pyszalek (17th), and p0cket00 (16th) each earned $4,816 for his or her finishes. 11Barney (15th), krokynacio (14th), and PhantomLiu (13th) took away $6,020 apiece. And Maxxx72alba (12th), Joao "joaoMathias" Mathias Baumgarten (11th), and robinho (10th) each saw $7,224 added to their PokerStars accounts.

About nine-and-a-half hours after the tourney had begun, just nine remained.

12nov13-supertuesday-finaltable.jpg

Seat 1: Nick "FU 15" Maimone (Honduras) -- 186,347
Seat 2: neckbr4ke (Germany) -- 548,716
Seat 3: Palau777 (Germany) -- 64,746
Seat 4: Brian "brianm15" England (Costa Rica) -- 1,008,269
Seat 5: Kenny "LoneHixx" Hicks (Canada) -- 140,774
Seat 6: Stefan "IceStream" Ivanov (Bulgaria) -- 228,953
Seat 7: el n0i (Portugal) -- 213,629
Seat 8: GoodStoryBro (Israel) -- 443,241
Seat 9: NutsErryTime (Costa Rica) -- 175,325

Brian "brianm15" England had extended his chip lead, earning much of his more-than-a-million chip stack through the lengthy 10-handed period. And Stefan "IceStream" Ivanov had made the Super Tuesday final table for the second one straight week and hoped to duplicate last week's victory, good for a fab $120,204.

Meanwhile, Palau777 was sitting with not up to 65,000, not even eight big blinds, and after a few orbits would bleed all the way down to almost half that before doubling once, then winning a couple of pots to climb out of the chance zone and finally back into contention.

It would take greater than half an hour for the primary final table elimination to occur, through which stretch the blinds increased to 6,000/12,000 while Nick "FU 15" Maimone's stack slipped to 97,438. Then came a hand by which Maimone open-pushed from early position with A♣J♦ and it folded around to el n0i who reraise-shoved excessive from the small blind with K♣K♠. The massive blind folded, the board rolled out 6♦T♠Q♠7♦4♣, and Maimone was out in ninth.

A while later the blinds were 7,000/14,000 when NutsErryTime open-raised all in for 99,325 from late position. This time it was Palau777 reraising all in from the small ignorant of isolate, showing Q♥Q♦ to NutsErryTime's K♥8♣. The flop came Q♠6♦9♦ to provide Palau777 a set, however the 7♦ turn provided straight hopes to NutsErryTime. The A♠ fell on fifth street, however, and NutsErryTime's Super Tuesday run was over in eighth.

Play continued seven-handed, with el n0i moving up into first position prior to brianm15. Then came another knockout as Stefan "IceStream" Ivanov pushed for 117,906 (somewhat over six big blinds) with K♥J♦ and watched neckbr4ke call all in from the large blind for just 46,451 with K♣9♥. The community cards came 3♥Q♦A♠, then 7♠, then A♥, and neckbr4ke was done in seventh.

Not too long after that came a large lead-changing hand when Palau777 and el n0i raised from side to side following a 6♠2♠K♠ flop to position the previous all in with K♥K♣ (a collection of kings) versus el n0i's A♦Q♠ (a flush draw). The turn and river came 8♣3♣ and after having been the table's short stack Palau777 was the only carrying the chip lead into the tournament's 12th hour.

It was shortly after that hourly break that the blinds were 10,000/20,000 when Stefan "IceStream" Ivanov raised all in to 208,607 from early position, GoodStoryBro reraised all in for just about 315,000 from the button, and the blinds folded.

IceStream: A♦A♣
GoodStoryBro: K♦K♠

A seemingly dream scenario for IceStream, however the flop fell J♣2♠K♣ to provide GoodStoryBro a suite of kings and the lead. The turn then brought the 7♣ to offer Ivanov a shot at a saving flush (along with his ace outs), and while the 2♣ river did make that flush it also improved GoodStoryBro to a whole house, knocking IceStream out in sixth.

Just a minute later it was Kenny "LoneHixx" Hicks pushing for 278,486 from the button, el n0i reraise-shoving from the small blind, and GoodstoryBro folding the large blind. LoneHixx had 5♦5♠ and needed help versus el n0i's 7♥7♦, however the board came A♠6♥T♣J♥Q♣ and so they were all the way down to four.

Another big confrontation followed a couple of minutes later when el n0i and Brian "brianm15" England got the entire latter's chips in on a ten-high flop with el n0i holding Q♦Q♥ and brianm15 A♥A♣. The aces held and suddenly England was back ahead in what had become a topsy-turvy final table.

A chip-depleted el n0i then open-pushed for 154,783 (rather less than eight BBs) with Q♣6♣ from the button and Palau777 called with A♠9♠ from the massive blind. The community cards came 5♦A♦2♠4♥T♦, giving Palau777 aces and knocking out el n0i in fourth.

The blinds moved as much as 12,500/25,000, and shortly Palau777 raised to 50,000 from the button, then GoodStoryBro shoved for 401,125 from the large blind and Palau777 called. GoodStoryBro was in peril with A♥4♥ against the Q♠Q♣ of Palau777. The board came 5♣5♠J♥6♦3♣ to bring no help for GoodStoryBro who was finished in third.

After that hand the overall two players were nearly even in chips, and after playing one hand more they paused the tourney to discuss a potential maintain Brian "brianm15" England sitting with 1,572,543 and Palau777 close behind with 1,437,457.

The original payouts had $113,778 going to the winner and $83,377 to the runner-up. The pair didn't look forward to any figures to be produced, but rather brianm15 offered Palau777 $84,000 with $6,000 left to play for and England taking the remaining. Palau777 appeared for a moment as if potentially interested, but eventually declined the deal that will only have guaranteed Palau777 a couple of hundred dollars greater than second-place money.

Here's how the last a part of that discussion went:

HostFelixC (Administrator): are you able to specify the conditions of the deal in order that I confirm it ?
brianm15: palau 84k me the remaining.. play for 6
HostFelixC (Administrator): ok
brianm15: gg palau
Palau777: wait
HostFelixC (Administrator): Listed below are the numbers, please type 'I agree' in the event you consider them
Palau777: come on we play

HostFelixC (Administrator): brianm15:$107,155.00
HostFelixC (Administrator): Palau777:$84,000.00
HostFelixC (Administrator): Left To Play for place 1: $6,000.00

Palau777: no we play
Palau777: wait
HostFelixC (Administrator): ok, I CAN resume the tournament now
Palau777: play
brianm15: bombs away

Play then resumed and before too long a large pot developed that saw Palau777 check-raising brianm15 at the turn with the board showing J♣K♦5♣8♥, then firing a hefty river bet after the 8♠ fell which England called. Palau777 then showed J♦8♦ for an entire house, and after brianm15 mucked Palau777 was suddenly up over 2.45 million while England were knocked down under 560,000.

The end then came only a few minutes later. With the blinds at 15,000/30,000, Palau777 raised to 60,000 from the button, brianm15 shoved for 743,758, and Palau777 called.

It was A♣6♥ for brianm15 and 5♦4♦ for Palau777. The 5♥8♦6♦ flop paired both, with England's sixes best at that time. However the 4♣ came at the turn to enhance Palau777 to 2 pair, and after the 9♥ river it was in every single place -- Palau777 had won.

All-Star Showdown: Ben "Sauce123" Sulsky leads wire-to-wire, tops Tobias "KTPOKP" Kuder in first quarterfinal

ps news thn.jpgAttention high-stakes railbirds! The All-Star Showdown is here! The primary of 4 quarterfinal matches has ended, with Benjamin "Sauce123" Sulsky beating Tobias "KTPOKP" Kuder in only under six hours to secure a place within the semifinals.

The format for the All-Star Showdown is a variation at the SuperStar Showdowns of old, with the matches requiring players to play four heads-up cash sessions simultaneously. However, unlike within the SuperStar Showdowns where the matches would end after 2,500 hands even supposing a player hadn't busted, each All-Star Showdown match will continue until one player has won every last chip from his opponent.

The game is no-limit hold'em, with blinds of $50/$100. Each player is bringing $100,000 of his own money to the match (i.e., 1,000 big blinds). If the pair be capable to get through 3,000 hands without one busting, the blinds might be increased to $100/$200 to accelerate the method.

Eight players, including new Team PokerStars Online member Isaac "IkeHaxton" Haxton -- are participating on this first All-Star Showdown. A draw determined the brackets for the single-elimination tournament. Here's the whole schedule:

Quarterfinals27 October: Tobias "KTPOKP" Kuder vs. Ben "Sauce123" Sulsky28 October: Alex "Kanu7" Millar vs. Isaac "IkeHaxton" Haxton30 October: Alexander "Sussie Smith" Roumeliotis vs. Dan "w00ki3z." Cates31 October: Phil "mrsweets28" Galfond vs. Ben "ben86" Tollerene

Semifinals2 November: Semifinal 1 (27 October winner vs. 28 October winner)3 November: Semifinal 2 (30 October winner vs. 31 October winner)

Final4 November: The All-Star Showdown final

Saturday's first quarterfinal match pitted the SuperNova Tobias "KTPOKP" Kuder of Austria against Ben "Sauce123" Sulsky playing from Canada. Like everyone else within the All-Star Showdown, both will also be regularly found on the high-stakes tables at PokerStars, with Sulsky having additional renown for having some huge online tourney scores under his belt. Most notably, last May Sulsky took down SCOOP #37-H, the $21,000 buy-in heads-up NLHE event, an eyebrow-raising resume-builder for the All-Star Showdown.

Kuder and Sulsky took seats on the four "All-Star Showdown" tables ahead of 18:00 CET, and exchanged some friendly chat regarding previous heads-up encounters they'd had.

KTPOKP: gl gl Sauce123: gl, hfKTPOKP: u2Sauce123: txSauce123: hopefully our previous matches arent indicative of today :PKTPOKP: i'm hoping so :)

Soon play was underway!

Hour 1 (Hands 1-310)

Players started with stacks of $10,000 (100 big blinds) at each table, automatically topping off back as much as $10K in the event that they dipped below. Resetting of stacks would occur in addition to make sure players would have no less than $10K with which to play, until after all one started to run too low along with his reserve funds to do so.

The pair traded small pots throughout the early going, with Sauce123 pushing to a $4,406 profit over the primary 52 hands to snatch an early advantage.

The lead quickly moved back to KTPOKP, however, in a hand on Table 1. In that one the flop brought Sulsky top pair of nines and Kuder the nut flush draw. The flush never came, but an ace at the river gave KTPOKP the simpler pair, so when Sulsky shoved the river Kuder called to win a $20,000 pot. Take a look:

Moments later, Sulsky rebought and doubled up himself on the same table in a hand during which both players flopped trip fives, however the turn gave Sauce123 an entire house. Advantage back to Sulsky.

Kuder recovered, edging in front on all of the the opposite three tables, and after 103 hands Sauce123's lead was just $1,323.

Over the following 50 hands or so -- played at a clip of about five hands per minute -- the lead remained concerning the same. Sauce123 then swiftly grabbed a sequence of medium-sized pots to widen his result in about $20,000, but KTPOKP was in a position to carve back some in a preflop all-in during which Sulsky held J♦J♥ and Kuder A♣K♣. An ace flopped, KTPOKP's hand held, and after 202 hands Sulsky led by $12,329.

KTPOKP grabbed a couple of more chips back over the following 100 hands, gradually closing the space back under $6,000. When the match reached the one-hour mark the pair took their first five-minute break, and with 310 hands within the books, Sulsky still led by $5,724.

Hour 2 (Hands 311-605)

The first 10 minutes of the second one hour went really well for Sulsky, highlighted by a $13,200 pot won in a hand on Table 4 during which Sauce123 held A♦K♥, flopped a king, and managed to gather a few post-flop streets' worth of value. That one helped push Sulsky's lead up around $25,000.

Kuder soon got those chips back and some more, however, in a hand on the same table wherein KTPOKP got all of it in at the turn with the board showing 9♥2♥J♠3♥. Kuder held J♥5♥ for a flush while Sulsky had 2♣2♠ for bottom set, and when the river brought a harmless king, KTPOKP had earned a $20,510 pot.

Undeterred, Sulsky kept pushing and grabbing small and medium pots, and by the point they crossed the 400-hand mark he had again pushed his profit up just about $20,000.

The aggression from both players started to increase, with more four-bets before the flop and a number of other back-and-forth battles over pots after. Sulsky continued so as to add to his stacks, leading significantly on three of 4 tables while Kuder had a small edge on Table 4.

In a hand on Table 3, they'd reach the river with the pot $3,400 and the board showing 2♣K♠7♣5♦Q♦. KTPOKP took a $2,500 stab on the pot, but Sauce123 raised all in, forcing a tank and fold from his opponent. The lead had moved up over $30K.

Sulsky then won an enormous $24K-plus pot through which he called a Kuder river shove with the board showing J♠9♥4♣K♥4♠. KTPOKP had A♦T♥ for ace-high and had hoped to earn a fold, but he'd run into Sulsky's Q♦T♦ -- a king-high straight.

The lead was suddenly backpedal under $20K. The space would tighten much more after another nearly $25K pot went KTPOKP's way on Table 1 in a hand during which both players flopped two pair, but Kuder's were better.

They were nearing the top of the third hour when what would ultimately prove the largest pot of all of the day arose, yet again on Table 3 where the effective stacks had risen to greater than 240 big blinds.

After a gap raise by Sauce123 to $200 from the button, KTPOKP reraised to $800 and Sauce123 called. The flop came J♦K♦4♠ and KTPOKP check-called a chance of $1,200 from Sauce123. The turn was the 5♣ and again Kuder checked. Sulsky bet $3,200 this time, and Kuder called.

The river was the 2♦. Kuder checked once more, and this time Sulsky pushed out a large bet of $14,400 and Kuder called. Sauce123 showed 9♦7♦ for a diamond flush, and KTPOKP mucked because the $39,200 pot slid Sulsky's way.

That hand pushed Kuder back up over $40,000 total, and the fourth table was opened again. KTPOKP's luck swiftly hit a wall, however, after running A♣K♠ into Sauce123's K♥K♦ and losing all of his stack on Table 2. Kuder battled gamely, earning a double-up in a hand through which both players flopped top pair of queens, but Kuder had the easier kicker.

Alluding to Sulsky's PLO game -- and maybe their hand strengths in that just concluded hand -- Kuder started typing:

KTPOKP: this isn't omahaSauce123: nhKPTOKP: we're playing holdem hereSauce123: oh ****KTPOKP: only for your notice

Kuder had built a stack up as regards to $20,000, meaning despite being down within the match he had an edge on the table as Sulsky had but about half that quantity in play.

At concerning the five-and-a-half-hour mark, a comparatively big hand finally developed that swung the advantage back to Sauce123.

US More Like China Than UK Regarding Internet Gambling

News of China's continuing crackdown on online gambling so resembles US action that the U.S. seems, on this instance more just like the totalitarian country than other democracies just like the UK.

Play Now at Slots Oasis! News breaking over the past few months describes how the united states solution to online gambling more closely resembles that of China, a totalitarian government, in place of the United Kingdom, another democracy. Both Chinese and US government forces have spent the primary half 2010 arresting and prosecuting Internet casino operators, and seizing large sums of money.

The Chinese news service Xinhua reported today that the Chinese campaign against Internet gambling started in February has led to the arrests of over 3400 persons and the seizure of $88 million in gaming funds. Internet freedoms was denied, as censorship blocks both gambling websites and payment processors from the country's residents.

US citizens can empathize with their Chinese counterparts. A decade of attempts to take choice clear of residents and deny access to online casinos have been racheted up by Eric Holder's Justice Department over the past several months. While actual arrsts number within the hundreds in place of thousands, money taken from frozen bank accounts is way greater than the Chinese figure.

UK lawmakers have acknowledged the need of the population to patronize online sports betting and Internet casinos, and, instead of fight the wish of the public, have worked to fairly and safely regulate online gambling. Legislators continue to check and tweak UK gaming rules, to make sure the best freedom for residents while protecting against fraud and underage participation.

Despite the accepted notion that the U.S. is a capitalist republic, such actions as denial of Internet freedom and the banning of online gambling indicate otherwise. With the continuing consolidation of corporations within the US, especially financial concerns, and their growing interlocking with the federal government, Internet gaming is also only the start folks similarity to China.

That plan came to a crashing halt when financing ran out shortly after the recession. When the power was finally opened, it did so that you could much fanfare. Despite the attraction for gamblers, Revel fell well in need of expectations, signaling the general changing of the guard within the Northeast.

With one bankruptcy under its belt, Revel majority shareholders Chatham Asset Management secured the approval this week of the brand new Jersey Casino Control Commission to grab control of Revel. Whether that suggests Chatham could be a long-term solution, is yet unknown.

At the hearing to announce the approval, Chatham Principal Evan Ratner explained that the corporate is asking into all options for Revel. By not disclosing a particular plan, Ratner led industry experts to believe that the corporate can be trying to sell, or take Revel through another round of bankruptcy.

Some interesting names have popped up as possible investors into the power. The Seminole Tribe of Florida has expressed their interest in purchasing Revel. The Seminoles currently have a monopoly on table gaming in Florida, with a compact the tribe signed with former Governor Charlie Crist set to run out in 2015.

Caesars Entertainment, with casinos within the US, is another potential buyer. Caesars has made their move into the Northeast during the last decade, and believes they may prosper within the second-largest gaming market at the East Coast.

Two years ago, Pennsylvania overtook New Jersey, for second, behind only Nevada relating to overall casino revenue. New Jersey made some changes to their state law, specifically authorizing online casinos, so that you could regain the highest spot within the Northeast.

Workers unions were present on the commission hearings this week, with the hope of preserving casino employee jobs. Thousands of workers was laid off lately in Atlantic City casinos, and the union desires to ensure no further workers are lost within the cost-cutting measures of the Revel.
