California Lottery Gambling on Warner Brothers Recording Acts

Warner Brothers music acts are the newest to lend their names and pictures to lottery gambling, because the California Lottery releases new scratch-offs.

The latest linkage for a state lottery involves musicians, as Warner Brothers Records announced a deal to add its recording artists on new games from the California Lottery. Lotteries have expanded recently to add NFL sports teams, classic movies, and now rock stars, allowing players gambling choices featuring their favorite acts.

Among the acts to be able to be carried on California scratch-off games are Seal, Michelle Branch, the Goo Goo Dolls, and Taking Back Sunday.

All tickets that fail to pay a cash prize will give players a second chance at gambling for a pleasant prize. Those tickets can also be entered by purchasers right into a random drawing to be conducted online, with the grand prize being a visit to a summer music festival next year, all expenses included. Another 2400 contestants will win 100 free music downloads each.

A $2 ticket within the Warner Brothers scratch-off games pays $10,000 because the top cash prize.

"Our players have expressed great interest in music-themed prizes," said California Lottery Director Joan Borucki. "This game, coupled with our interactive Web site, will bring a brand new level of playing to our customers."
