It was an eventful weekend within the NBA Playoffs, most notably as a result of Golden State star guard Stephen Curry’s knee injury. But with three more first-round games tonight, there’s little time to mirror. We talked to Chris Andrews, sportsbook director on the SouthPoint, along side an oddsmaker from online site BetNow about how things are shaping up for tonight’s contests.

Los Angeles Clippers at Portland Trail Blazers – Open: Clippers -2.5; Move: Clippers -3.5

In Game 3 on Saturday, the Clippers went off as 1.5-point road favorites but were dealt an outright 96-88 loss, trimming their result in 2-1 within the best-of-7 series. But bettors haven’t been shy about getting back at the L. a. horse.

“We got quite a lot of cash at the favorite,” Andrews said. “I think the number is likely to move higher. We’ve also got a large number of moneyline play at the favorite. So we’re gonna need the Blazers pretty good.”

Over at BetNow, the Clippers are already at -4.

“The action started even, but because the hours progressed, we’ve seen numerous action are available for the Clippers,” BetNow’s oddsmaker said. “Also, interestingly enough, bettors are leaning toward the under (205.5).”

Miami Heat at Charlotte Hornets – Open: Heat +2.5; Move: Heat +2

Miami took Games 1 and a couple of SU and ATS on this series, then went off as a 3-point underdog in Game 3 and fell 96-80 as Charlotte climbed back into the series.

“We’ve been from side to side between 2 and 2.5,” Andrews said. “It’s pretty even business presently. The general public is attempting to make a decision who they like.”

BetNow’s oddsmaker said action is leaning toward the warmth and the over (195.5).

“It seems that Charlotte’s Game 3 didn’t impress the bettors that much,” he said. “The Heat has been one of the picked teams within the East, just just below the Cavs.”

Dallas Mavericks at Oklahoma City – Open: Thunder -13.5; Move: Thunder -14.5

Were it not for a basket waved off on the buzzer in Game 2, negating an Oklahoma City win, the Thunder would probably have already wrapped up this series. Kevin Durant and Co. went to Dallas and won SU and ATS in Games 3 and 4, and can attempt to clinch the series tonight.

“We’re pretty high on Oklahoma City,” Andrews said of tickets at the Thunder. “The public is firmly on Oklahoma City, and that i haven’t seen much wiseguy play at the ‘dog.”

BetNow is seeing an analogous scenario.

“Bettors are thinking that the Thunder will put away the Mavericks tonight,” he said. “The Thunder are strong favorites, and apparently there isn’t an excessive amount of of a surprise there. Bettors also are selecting the over for this game hard (206).”
