Six weeks ago the thirteenth, and what is going to become the overall European Poker Tour season, got under way in Barcelona Spain. The walls of Casino Barcelona strained amid the burden of the thousands of players who registered to play some of the biggest events of the year, one that culminated in a win for the diminutive Polish newcomer Sebastian Malec. While Malec's story came late within the EPT's history, both the way of his win and his reaction to it, usually are remembered for a few years to come.
Six weeks on and the quest begins for more champions.
This time the EPT has put ashore within the Mediterranean Island of Malta for 11 days of poker starting today. During that point the PokerStars Blog might be reporting from the tournament room with live updates through to the general day of play on Saturday October 29.
Last time the tour was in these parts it was Scottish pro Niall Farrell who could do no wrong, topping a field of 651 players to win a primary EPT title and a primary prize of €534,330 ordinarily Event.
