jbrown8777 captures Super Tuesday title, $103K; Nicolas Fierro, Nov. Niner Martin Jacobson final table

As is also the case, this week's Super Tuesday featured both a large field with 590 entrants and a lot of poker's top players, with a last table that included the likes of Vicente "vicenfish" Zamorano, Nicolas "PKaiser" Fierro, Jeremy "00psiedaisy" Fitzpatrick, Miltos "Miltos14″ Kyriakides, and November Niner Martin "M.nosbocaJ" Jacobson.

But after almost exactly 11 hours it was jbrown8777 triumphing over all of these formidable opponents to capture the title and a $103,617.48 after a three-handed final table deal. Here's the tale of jbrown8777's victory.

With 590 participating that made the whole prize pool $590,000 for the $1,050 no-limit hold'em tournament, well over the tournament's $400K guarantee. They'd play for greater than five-and-a-half hours before the money bubble burst, and with 72 players left antesvante had scaled the leaderboard to imagine first position.

Also within the mix still then was Team PokerStars Pro Christian "el grillo" de Leon, fresh from cashing within the concluding Main Event of Season 7 of the Latin American Poker Tour in Lima, Peru. De Leon also took a while early on within the tournament to show us tips on how to play "Mata Aces," a game catching fire currently in his native Mexico.

De Leon would hang on with a below average stack some time longer before finally falling in 39th ($2,655). They'd play on until previous to the eight-hour break after they were right down to 18 players with Vicente "vicenfish" Zamorano leading and another player who recently played on the LAPT Peru Grand Final, Nicolas "PKaiser" Fierro, sitting in second position.

It would take another 45 minutes for nine more players to be eliminated. Nick "FU 15" Maimone (18th), mickl58 (17th), and Christian "weichhart" Weichhart (16th) each earned $4,720 for his or her finishes. elliottpet (15th), KatePkrPro (14th), and Scudierooooo (13th) followed, picking up $5,900 apiece. And TunicaTerror (12th), neeno1990 (11th), and Tu Ta Tenso? (10th) were next successesively knocked out, each claiming $7,080 from the prize pool.

With both Zamorano and Fierro still battling together with various other notables, the overall table was underway.

Seat 1: QcKimo (Canada) -- 192.107 Seat 2: jbrown8777 (Canada) -- 619.452 Seat 3: Anthony "holdplz" Spinella (Mexico) -- 203,110 Seat 4: Miltos "Miltos14″ Kyriakides (Cyprus) -- 270.333 Seat 5: Martin "M.nosbocaJ" Jacobson (UK) -- 332.587Seat 6: Jeremy "00psiedaisy" Fitzpatrick (Costa Rica) -- 163.598 Seat 7: MuckCallOK (Austria) -- 243.208 Seat 8: Vicente "vicenfish" Zamorano (Portugal) -- 506,927 Seat 9: Nicolas "PKaiser" Fierro (Chile) -- 418,678

About 25 minutes into the overall table, the blinds were 4,500/9,000 when MuckCallOK opened for 16,000 from middle position, then Vicente "vicenfish" Zamorano three-bet to 40,000 from a seat over. It folded back around to MuckCallOK who reraised all in for 231,808 and Zamorano called.

MuckCallOK had K♥Q♦ and Zamorano T♦T♣. The community cards came 7♦7♠2♠8♦A♥, and MuckCallOK was out in ninth.

Just two hands later, chip leader jbrown8777 again opened with a raise to 19,890 from the cutoff seat, then Anthony "holdplz" Spinella reraised all in from the button for 160,475 total. The blinds folded, and jbrown8777 called the reraise.

Spinella showed K♥T♥ while jbrown8777 revealed 8♣8♦. The board ran out 6♠7♠5♠Q♣9♠, improving jbrown8777 to a straight and leaving Spinella with king-high, thus knocking holdplz out in eighth.

Miltos "Miltos14″ Kyriakides will be the next player out in seventh after hand that started with him raising 2x to 20,000 from middle position. Vicente "vicenfish" Zamorano then reraised to 55,000 from the massive blind, Kyriakides pushed all in for 285,268, and Zamorano called.

vicenfish: A♥Q♠Miltos14: A♦J♥

Both had an ace while Kyriakides had the more severe kicker, and after the 8♦5♣3♦T♣T♠ board the kickers played and Miltos14 was sent railward in seventh.

The remaining six players continued past the tournament's 10-hour mark with jbrown8777 still on top. Soon it was Jeremy "00psiedaisy" Fitzpatrick open-raising all in from early position for 92,373 (a bit of under eight big blinds). Nicolas "PKaiser" Fierro then reraised from the button and the blinds stepped aside.

Fitzpatrick had A♣9♦ and needed help versus Fierro's A♥Q♦, however the 8♥5♠K♣J♥6♣ board provided no improvement for him and 00psiedaisy was out in sixth.

On the very next hand Fierro min-raised to 24,000 from the cutoff. It folded around to the large blind where sat Martin "M.nosbocaj" Jacobson who's readying to play on the WSOP Main Event final table in exactly a few weeks. Jacobson reraised all in for 190,924 and Fierro called.

Jacobson had A♠J♥ and the brink versus Fierro's A♥7♣, and was still ahead after the 8♠4♣6♣ flop, however the 7♥ came on fourth street to pair Fierro, and after the Q♠ river Jacobson was out in fifth.

A short time later Fierro was min-raising all over again to 28,000 from the button. QcKimo reraised to 70,000 from the small blind, then jbrown8777 four-bet to 141,211 from the massive blind. Fierro folded, QcKimo pushed all in for 708,678 total, and jbrown8777 called to create an enormous pot of greater than 1.45 million.

QcKimo had A♣Q♠ but jbrown8777 had A♥K♠. The board came 7♥7♦8♥6♠A♠, and QcKimo was the fourth-place finisher.

The remaining three players continued a brief while, then paused the tournament to speak about a potential maintain jbrown8777 the large leader with 2,044,014, Nicolas "PKaiser" Fierro next with 465,211, and Vicente "vicenfish" Zamorano sitting in third with 440,775. "ICM" figures were produced -- leaving $8,000 for which to play -- and all three readily agreed to the terms before continuing.

Not long after the deal, Fierro started to pick up some chips, then a hand arose that saw him open with a 2x button-raise to 28,000. jbrown8777 reraised to 77,000 from the small blind, Fierro reraised to 154,575, jbrown8777 shoved all in, and Fierro called with the 523,767 he had left.

Fierro turned over T♣T♦ and hoped the pair would hold against jbrown8777's A♥K♦. The 5♠A♦8♥ flop paired jbrown8777's ace, however, and after the 3♥ turn and 8♣ river, Fierro was out in third.

That pot added further to jbrown8777's advantage, and on the time heads-up play began jbrown8777 had a greater than 10-to-1 lead with 2,690,167 to Vicente "vicenfish" Zamorano's 259,833.

Zamorano would battle gamely for 20 minutes, carrying the tournament right as much as the 11-hour mark at which point he'd built as much as just below 480,000.

Then with the blinds 9,000/18,000, vicenfish raiased to 37,620 from the button and jbrown8777 called, then the flop came Q♥4♠T♣. jbrown8777 checked, Zamorano bet 36,000, and jbrown8777 called. The turn brought the A♠ and another check from jbrown8777, followed by another bet by vicenfish, this time for 90,000. jbrown8777 called again.

The river was the 8♥ and jbrown8777 checked one last time. Zamorano pushed his last 314,129 into the center and jbrown8777 called again, and while Zamorano have been barreling with J♥3♣, jbrown8777 had turned the nuts with K♠J♣ for a Broadway straight.

Congratulations to jbrown8777 for topping a large field of 590 and a skilled final table to capture this week's Super Tuesday title and a greater than $103K first prize. And kudos to boot to both Vicente "vicenfish" Zamorano and Nicolas "PKaiser" Fierro for making it to the three-handed deal to guarantee themselves nice paydays as well.
