The pace was fast yesterday after they worked from 45 players all the way down to eight in lower than six hours' worth of poker. It appeared we'd be seeing something similar initially of play today, but things slowed considerably, carrying us the entire way in the course of the first two levels-plus without an elimination.
That was various time for the media to enjoy four pizzas. Meanwhile, as we shoved slices of pepperoni and cheese there have been quite a lot of shoves on the table happening as well.
Level 26 (concl.): Backmann comes out swinging
There was some action before the last five minutes of Level 26 were completed.
Following a gap raise from Marcos Exterkotter in middle position, leader Jerson Backmann three-bet to 250,000 from the cutoff, Exterkotter reraised again to 550,000, then Backmann shoved all in forcing a minute-long meditation followed by a fold from Exterkotter.
Backmann -- whose hobby is boxing -- had landed an important blow early directly to one of the crucial other big stacks, extending his lead even further.
Level 27: Short-stacks start shoving
Level 27 soon began (25,000/50,000/5,000), wherein the action bogged down albeit interrupted by occasional shoves by the quick stacks.
First Daniel Campodonico open-pushed all in for 1,105,000 from the hijack seat, the raise getting through as others folded.
A few minutes after that Carlos Sobenes of Peru pushed for his last 565,000 from early position, and again the short-stacked player picked up the blinds and antes. At the next hand Sobenes shoved again from under the gun, and another time took it down, showing his pocket tens as he collected some more chips.
Then following an Exterkotter UTG open, Sobenes reraise-pushed from the large ignorant of get the Brazilian to fold. Another open-shove by Sobenes -- this time with A♣Q♣ -- earned folds throughout and pushed his stack up over 1 million. Another 10 minutes passed, then Sobenes was all in again, this time unfortunately exposing his hand (A♣K♦) before the action had completed across the table, and everybody folded.
Action proceeded toward the top of the level, and the brand new short stack Jose Torre took a turn at open-raising all in for 765,000 and winning.
Level 28: Campodonico keeps his seat
All eight players made it to Level 28 (30,000/60,000/10,000), firstly of which the stacks were as follows:

Soon Oscar Alache was opening for 125,000 from early position, then Campodonico reraised all in for 720,000 from one seat over. Alache considered for approximately a minute, counting his chips and speaking to the Uruguayan a little before letting his hand go.
A little later Sobenes raised and Backmann called from the button, the flop brought two kings and a check-call from Sobenes, then two more streets' worth of checks followed and then Sobenes showed A♠K♠ for trips to assert a small one.
A Campodonico shove over an Exterkotter open earned another pot for the Uruguyan. Next it was Exterkotter pushing for 755,000 and getting no action. Then Jose Torre got another shove through with a brief stack.
A reraise-push from Sobenes with pocket nines over a Campodonico opening raise won a hand. Another all-in bet at the flop by Campodonico earned a fold from Alache and another pot.
Play marched on. Finally an all-in came that was called, putting a player in danger for the primary time on the final table.
Exterkotter open-raised all in for 755,000 from the button, and the action folded to Backmann who after inquiring for a count stood from his chair, sat back down, then called.
Exterkotter: K♣K♥Backmann: A♥3♥
The board ran out 4♠5♣4♣7♣4♥, and Exterkotter's kings held.
Ten minutes later -- with Campodonico getting yet one more all-in push through -- they reached the end-of-level break with Backmann still leading. Listed below are the counts on the end of Level 28:
