Manila Megastack 5: Main Event Final Day resumes with 108 gunnersNO Deposit bonus $43

MM5 Day 1b Field 2.jpgAfter the completion of 2 day one flights on the Manila Megastack 5 Main Event hosted by PokerStars Live Manila, only 108 players out of the combined 478 entries could be returning today to the Grand Ballroom of City of Dreams Manila for the overall battle to the finish. These types of players may be surely be pumped up as they head to the felt with one mission to tackle, to say the huge first place cash prize of P2,392,350 plus a seat to the impending Asia Pacific Poker Tour 10 Manila (APPT).

Entering the general Day because the overall chip leader is Chinese Taipei's Shih Chieh Su with 367,000 chips. Su amassed his chips in Day 1b. Right at his coattails in second rank is Day 1a's chip leader, Chinese Taipei's Hao Che Luo with 345,500 chips.

This installment of the Manila Megastack series was truly one for the books, delivering a lot more than advertised and far greater than expected. There has been a record-breaking 220 entries at Main Event Day 1a, the most important starting flight for the series since its introduction last year. Combine it with the 258 Day 1b entries, this produced the biggest field ever seen for the Manila Megastack. Topping those record-breaking numbers was the incredibly massive P10,432,350 prize pool, easily surpassing the P6M guarantee.

With only 45 players seeing a profit today, this may occasionally mean that greater than 1/2 the players within the field could be walking away empty-handed. Players corresponding to Russia's Andrei Dementev, China's Yongqi Ren, China's Po Han Huang, in conjunction with many others, may have their work cut out today as they are going to be entering the day with short stacks needing a large boost.

In addition to the primary Event Final Day, there are two side events on tap, the 6-Max at 1230pm with a buy-in fee of P6,000 and a P100,000 entry fee NLH event at 1pm. Later in day two satellites could be up and running, the Qualifier to APPT 10 Manila Satellite at 5pm with an entry fee of P2,000, and at 7pm, the APPT 10 Manila Satellite with a P10,000 entry fee.
