Construction began this week at the Tropicana-branded casino in Evansville, Ind. The casino, for you to be moving onto land and situated within the city’s downtown, would be the first of its kind for the state, which has up until this point had riverboat casinos.

According to Tristatehomepage.com, the ability can have 75,000 feet of gaming and non-gaming amenities. The price of the project is $50 million. The casino is predicted to open in late 2017.

The move onto land was allowed by a law enacted by the legislature this year.

The new facility is predicted to be completed in December 2017. The riverboat casino that it's going to replace was in operation since 1995, in step with the Associated Press.

Indiana’s commercial casino industry had total gaming win of $2.13 billion in 2015, which was the bottom it's been since 2009. Ohio opened casinos in 2012, and that had an enormous impact on Indiana gaming. Ohio’s gambling market has grown annually because it launched.
