PokerStars expects the approaching stop of the European Poker Tour (EPT) in Prague to be "considered one of PokerStars' biggest ever live poker festivals."
Built around an action-packed calendar of events, the EPT Prague Poker Festival is about to kick off on the Hilton Prague on Dec. 7, and run for 11 days filled with tournaments, parties, and surprises.
"The Prague Poker Festival always attracts numerous players who play both tournaments and cash games," EPT President Edgar Stuchly said.
Organized at the side of the Eureka Poker Tour, the 11-day long festival will feature 59 different tournaments with marquee events corresponding to the EPT €5,300 Main Event, the Eureka €1,100 Main Event, the €10,300 High Roller, and the €50,000 Super High Roller in an effort to immediately become the top buy-in live poker event ever held within the Czech Republic.
The EPT Prague Poker Festival may also mark the introduction of the brand new Midnight Turbo events, some new live tournaments starting in the dark with buy-ins that allows you to range from €300 to €1,000.
Also in the course of the 11 days of the festival, PokerStars will host three EPT Omaha Championships, the first-ever EPT Junior’s Event for players aged 18-21, a €200 buy-in Seniors' Event for players aged 50 or over, and the Finnish Championships.
"This year's festival has potential to be even bigger than last season, where both the Eureka and EPT Main Events shattered records," Stuchly continued.
The 2013 edition of the EPT Prague turned out to be a perfect success for the poker room, because the over 9,000 entries around the 47 events within the festival's schedule generated a combined prize pool of virtually €13 million.
The high turnout of players in 2013 helped PokerStars also to set new records both for Eureka's and EPT’s main events, which attracted 1,315 and 1,007 participants, respectively.
