If you're anything like me (and, in case you are, I'm really sorry) when you've got a nagging case of global Series of Poker Envy creeping up on you. It starts like a summer cold. You hope maybe it's just allergies. There are a couple of random tweets popping out of Vegas during which someone you already know is updating her chip stack, and also you think, "I WILL BE ABLE TO beat this. It won't get me this year." The following thing you know, you're hard-refreshing updates on every available online platform, riffling your souvenir chip stack, and challenging your dog to play heads-up for rolls. After which the dog wins, because he's well-trained, and also you were too damned aggressive.
That's the way it goes, and it'll last for one more seven weeks unless you do something positive about it.
What to do? Well, it is a process. For me, it's knowing that the PokerStars Blog will eventually be headed out to Vegas for its 12th consecutive year. Within the meantime, it's my job to seem out for those of you who've the itch this weekend.
So, listed below are some quick fixes that can assist you get throughout the early stages.
As I wrote yesterday, the KidPoker documentary is now available on Netflix in select countries. I watched it yesterday, and though I've known Daniel Negreanu for many years now, I learned so much that I DID NOT know. Whether you like him or hate him, you'll come clear of the documentary with a better understanding of 1 of the world's best known players.

It simply so happened, that was across the same time PokerStars announced it was bringing back the $5 Spin & Go tourneys that award as much as $1 million.
Once again, for a limited time, the $5 Spin & Go events provides you with the risk to bink a million-dollar win in an issue of minutes. That will go some distance toward getting you to the WSOP and cure that case of summer camp envy.
If you'd rather grind away your problems this weekend, consider the new PokerStars challenge. All you need to do is enroll and check out to construct your personal pyramid of wins. When you do, you'll win anywhere between $1 and $5,000 each day until June 10.
You can find full details at the Pyramid challenge right here.
James Hartigan and Joe Stapleton are back with the 49th episode in their EPT Not Live podcast. It is a good companion to the KidPoker documentary, because Negreanu is a guest at the show. In it, they speak about Negreanu's recent trip to Romania before attending to discussing the Super High Roller Bowl, the WSOP, the Rocky franchise, Game of Thrones, and American politics.
You can take heed to the entire thing here.
Again, this isn't a really perfect option, but as I WILL NOT play on PokerStars, and i have already checked off the opposite other two options, the dog goes to need to sit with me again. If she slow-rolls me with aces again, I CAN have a dog on the market on the WSOP.
