We are back at PokerStars Live Manila today for Day 1b! That is the general flight to get into the Manila Megastack 5 Main Event which starts promptly at 2pm. Buyin to the primary Event is P25,000 with unlimited re-entries. Players begin with an excessively deep starting stack of 30,000, that is 600x the starting blinds. What this implies is, loads of playing time to rake in those chips. Blinds escalate every 30 mins and late registration / re-entry can be open for four hours, a complete of eight rounds.
At yesterday's day 1a flight, the Grand Ballroom of City of Dreams Manila was bustling with tables stuffed with hungry poker players early within the day, while a protracted line of latecomers were also eagerly awaiting to get within the action. Inside the day, chips were shuffling everywhere in the room and by the top of late registration, a big turnout of 220 entries was within the books. That is the most important field ever recorded for an afternoon 1a of the Manila Megastack series. Players also couldn't help drooling on the total prize pool generated, just over P4.8M, and with today's flight, the overall consensus is, there's a strong likelihood that the P6M guarantee might be surpassed.
There were a complete of 49 players who survived the serious heat of day 1a, and popping out on top was Chinese Taipei's Hao-Cha Luo who accumulated 345,500 chips; considered one of Singapore's top pros, Alex Lee bagged the second one largest with 272,500 chips, and trailing just a bit behind him was the 2015 Asia Player of the Year champion, Hong Kong's Alan "Kinglune" Lau with 249,500 chips. Just before the beginning of the principle Event, there'll be a final Chance Satellite to the primary Event at 12PM. Buyin is P6,000. So in the event you don't have your ticket in and want to get one at a lower cost, this might be the best way for you. With this type of lucrative Main Event prize pool, you actually don't need to overlook out.
In addition to the primary Event, there'll be a Saturday Superstack side event on deck at 9pm. It is a two-day event with an entry fee of P15,000.
We could be posting updates at the action at Day 1b so be in search of that. Day 1a chip counts can be posted so that you can take a look at who survived and where they stand.
