Talal ‘raidalot’ Shakerchi has won the 2016 PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker 410,000 no-limit hold’em high main event, defeating a field of 824 entries to win the title and the first-place prize of $1,468,001. The tournament sported a $4 million guaranteed prize pool, which was doubled when 713 individual players posted the buy-in with 111 re-entries made.
The 53-year-old hedge fund manager from the uk came into the nine handed final table because the chip leader with 9.8 million of the roughly 41.2 million chips in play. Shakerchi, who frequents high stakes tournaments live and online, had some stiff competition to cope with a t the general table including five time World Series of Poker bracelet winner John ‘LuckBox’ Juanda (7th – $256,000), the number-six player at the all-time live tournament earnings list Scott ‘gunning4you’ Seiver (4th – $596,000) and eventual runner-up Sean ‘nolez7’ Winter (2nd – $1,048,000).
Winter has nearly $3.4 million in live tournament earnings to his name and a Card Player Poker Tour main event title under his belt. He came into the day in sixth chip position but took a success early when he ran ace-king into Scott Seiver’s pocket aces. Winter was capable of mount a comeback and survive right down to heads-up against Shakerchi.

Shakerchi quickly called with the A7 for the nut flush and Winter got the bad news that his lower flush with the 109 was no good. With that Shakerchi locked up the title and sent Winter the the rail in second place.
